Implementation of fractional order controller for stabilized visual tracking system in real military platforms
Karasoy, Mehmet Bayındır; Erkmen, Aydan Müşerref; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2018)
Main tasks of the defence systems are mainly built on the stabilization and target tracking features of the platforms. The servo controllers in these platforms areresponsibletoobtaindesiredperformanceoverchallengingenvironments. In this thesis, Fractional Order Controller is developed and implemented to stabilized, visual tracking real military system. Aim of the study is to improve stabilization and target tracking performances of the gimbal. The system identification procedure is applied and system model i...
Geology, geochemistry, and geochronology of Fe-oxide Cu (+/- Au) mineralization associated with Samli pluton, western Turkey
Yılmazer, Erkan; Güleç, Nilgün Türkan; Kuşcu, İlkay; Lentz, David R. (2014-03-01)
The Samli (Balikesir) Fe-oxide Cu (+/- Au) deposit, one of several iron (+ Cu +/- Au) deposits in western Turkey, is hosted by porphyritic rocks of the multi-phase Samli pluton and metapelitic-metadiabasic rocks of Karakaya Complex. Two successive mineralization events are recognized in the area as; i) early magnetite and sulfide and ii) late hematite-goethite-native copper (+/- Au). Alteration associated with the mineralization in Samli is characterized by four distinct mineralogical assemblages. They are,...
Analysis of security requirements for cryptographic voting protocols (extended abstract)
Cetinkaya, Orhan (2008-03-07)
Electronic voting refers to the use of computers or computerized voting equipment to cast ballots in an election and it is not an easy task due to the need of achieving electronic voting security requirements. The cryptographic voting protocols use advanced cryptography to make electronic voting secure and applicable.
Proposal and analysis of a new passive solar heating system for multistory buildings

Perception-based navigation for mobile robots
Kawamura, K; Wilkes, DM; Koku, Ahmet Buğra; Keskinpala, T (2002-03-01)
Ongoing research on multi-robot collaborative navigation conducted in the Intelligent Robotics Lab at Vanderbilt University is introduced. Range-free egocentric representations for navigation have been previously developed for a single robot. We refer to this method as perception-based navigation (PBN). This paper will show that the concept of PBN can be extended from a single robot to a group of robots to achieve collaborative navigation. One robot attempts to reach a target region by sharing its sensory i...
