This study investigates software development process improvement approaches. In particular, the static process evaluation methodology proposed by S. Güceğlioğlu is applied on the requirements analysis and validation process applied in Project X in MYCOMPANY and an improved process is proposed. That methodology is an extension of the ISO/IEC 9126 approach for software quality assessment, and is based on evaluating a set of well-defined metrics on the static model of software development processes. The improved process proposed for Project X is evaluated using Güceğlioğlu’s methodology. The applied and improved process measurement results compared to determine if the improved process is successful or not.

Analysis of extended feature models with constraint programming
Karataş, Ahmet Serkan; Oğuztüzün, Mehmet Halit S.; Department of Computer Engineering (2010)
In this dissertation we lay the groundwork of automated analysis of extended feature models with constraint programming. Among different proposals, feature modeling has proven to be very effective for modeling and managing variability in Software Product Lines. However, industrial experiences showed that feature models often grow too large with hundreds of features and complex cross-tree relationships, which necessitates automated analysis support. To address this issue we present a mapping from extended fe...
Software reliability assessment
Kaya, Deniz; Bilgen, Semih; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2005)
In spite of the fact that software reliability studies have attracted great deal of attention from different disciplines in 1970s, applications of the subject have rarely been involved in the software industry. With the rise of technological advances especially in the military electronics field, reliability of software systems gained importance. In this study, a company in the defense industries is inspected for their abilities and needs regarding software reliability, and an improvement proposal with metri...
A simulation tool for mc6811
Sarıkan (Tuncer), Nazlı; Güran, Hasan; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2004)
The aim of this thesis study is to develop a simulator for an 8-bit microcontroller and the written document of this thesis study analyses the process of devoloping a software for simulating an 8 bit microcontroller, MC68HC11. In this simulator study a file processing including the parsing of the assembler code and the compilation of the parsed instructions is studied. Also all the instruction execution process containing the cycle and instruction execution and the interrupt routine execution is observed th...
Resource based plan revision in dynamic multi-agent environments
Erdoğdu, Utku; Polat, Faruk; Department of Computer Engineering (2004)
Planning framework is commonly used to represent intelligent agents effectively and to model complex behavior. In planning framework, resource-based perspective is interesting in the sense that in a multi-agent environment, exchange of resources can form a cooperative interaction. In resource based plan coordination, each agent constructs an individual plan, then plans are examined by a central plan revision unit for possibilities of removing actions. Domain of this work is the classical postmen domain that...
Feature-based software asset modeling with domain specific kits
Altıntaş, Nesip İlker; Doğru, Ali Hikmet; Department of Computer Engineering (2007)
This study proposes an industrialization model, Software Factory Automation, for establishing software product lines. Major contributions of this thesis are the conceptualization of Domain Specific Kits (DSKs) and a domain design model for software product lines based on DSKs. The concept of DSK has been inspired by the way other industries have been successfully realizing factory automation for decades. DSKs, as fundamental building blocks, have been deeply elaborated with their characteristic properties a...
