Wax deposition in horizontal wells
Ozbayoglu, M.E.; Demiral, B.; Kök, Mustafa Verşan (2000-01-01)
In this research, wax deposition in horizontal well bores was studied. In a horizontal well, the main mechanism for wax appearance is the pressure change rather than the temperature change. Six different thermodynamic models were improved for horizontal wells by adding a pressure function, and a computer program was developed to simulate the precipitation phenomena in horizontal wells. Solid-liquid equilibrium constants for each pseudo-component were calculated. Critical pressures and overall solid mole fac...
Wax appearance temperature (WAT) determinations of different origin crude oils by differential scanning calorimetry
Kök, Mustafa Verşan; Nurgaliev, Danis K. (2018-09-01)
In this research, wax appearance temperatures (WAT) of eight different crude oils from south-eastern region of Turkey were determined by differential scanning calorimetry. The experiments were performed at a heating/ cooling-rate of 2 degrees C/min from 60 to -20 degrees C It was observed that the wax appearance temperature of different origin crude oils was varied between 14.2 and 37.8 degrees C depending on the API gravity and wax content. It was also observed that the crude oils have enthalpy of precipit...

Rubber toughening of phenolic resin by using nitrile rubber and amino silane
Kaynak, Cevdet (2006-05-01)
The aim of this study was to investigate rubber toughening of resol type phenol-formaldehyde resin. For this purpose, phenolic resin was first modified by acrylonitrile butadiene rubber alone, and then by using nitrite rubber together with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane. Test specimens were prepared by mixing and casting of liquid phenolic resin in three groups. In the first one, neat phenolic resin specimens were produced. In the second group, phenolic resin was modified with 0.5, 1, 2, and 3 wt% nitrile rub...
Rubber toughening of phenolic resin by using nitrile rubber and amino silane
Çağatay, Onur; Kaynak, Cevdet; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2005)
The aim of this study was to investigate rubber toughening of resol type phenol-formaldehyde resin. For this purpose, phenolic resin was first modified by only acrylonitrile butadiene rubber, and then by using nitrile rubber together with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane. Test specimens were prepared by mixing and casting of liquid phenolic resin in three groups. In the first one, neat phenolic resin specimens were produced. In the second group, phenolic resin was modified with 0.5, 1, 2, and 3 wt.% nitrile rub...
