Color Preserving HDR Fusion for Dynamic Scenes
Karadağ, Gökdeniz; Akyüz, Ahmet Oğuz (2012-06-01)
We present a novel algorithm to efficiently generate high quality high dynamic range (HDR) images. Our method is based on the idea of expanding the dynamic range of a reference image at granularity of tiles. In each tile, we use data from a single exposure, but different tiles can come from different exposures. We show that this approach is not only efficient and robust against camera and object movement, but also improves the color quality of the resulting HDR images. We compare our method against the comm...
Color engineering of π-conjugated donor-acceptor systems :
İçli Özkut, Merve; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar; Cihaner, Atilla; Department of Chemistry (2011)
Design of a monomer is a viable route for adjusting the properties of its corresponding polymer. The main goal of this study is to design and synthesize novel soluble polymers having various colors of color palette and amenable for use in electrochromic device applications. In designing the monomers, the factors affecting the properties of the polymers are also considered. For this purpose, each part of the monomers is chosen properly for each desirable properties and the effect of them is investigated sepa...
Color-based object tracking to improve mobile robot navigation
Keskinpala, T; Koku, Ahmet Buğra; Keskinpala, HK (2002-07-18)
Recognition and tracking of certain objects of interest is an important aspect that a robotic system has to have for a variety of reasons. One use of tracking is introduced with behavior-based robotics where certain objects, or object distributions are used as triggers for different behaviors. Landmark based navigation is yet another example. Although it is possible to execute tracking by using different sensors, vision is mostly preferred. In this paper, a color-based object tracking system is introduced.
Color and shape based traffic sign detection
Ulay, Emre; Akar, Gözde; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2008)
In this thesis, detection of traffic signs is studied. Since, both color and shape properties of traffic signs are distinctive; these two properties have been employed for detection. Detection using color properties is studied in two different color domains in order to examine and compare the advantages and the disadvantages of these domains for detection purposes. In addition to their color information, shape information is also employed for detection purpose. Edge information (obtained by using the Sobel ...
Color appearance in high-dynamic-range imaging
Akyüz, Ahmet Oğuz (2006-07-01)
When viewing images on a monitor, we are adapted to the lighting conditions of our viewing environment as well as the monitor itself, which can be very different from the lighting conditions in which the images were taken. As a result, our perception of these photographs depends directly on the environment in which they are displayed. For high-dynamic-range images, the disconnect in the perception of scene and viewing environments is potentially much larger than in conventional film and photography. To prep...
