This paper presents a new algorithm and computation approach to solve the economic load dispatch (ELD) in electrical power systems. We applied a new power formula to solve the LLD problem. If production units cost Curves are represented property then ELD becomes More Correct. In this respect we assumed that production units have prohibited operating zones. Cost curves of the production units are generally accepted as piece-wise quadratic function. The power production is cheaper since we do not use the production units ill the prohibited operating zones. The proposed method and algorithm are compared to other ELD methods oil the standard test systems. The proposed method solve the dispatch problem faster than the other ELD methods.

An adaptive, energy-aware and distributed fault-tolerant topology-control algorithm for heterogeneous wireless sensor networks
Deniz, Fatih; Bagci, Hakki; KÖRPEOĞLU, İBRAHİM; Yazıcı, Adnan (2016-07-01)
This paper introduces an adaptive, energy-aware and distributed fault-tolerant topology control algorithm, namely the Adaptive Disjoint Path Vector (ADPV) algorithm, for heterogeneous wireless sensor networks. In this heterogeneous model, we have resource-rich supernodes as well as ordinary sensor nodes that are supposed to be connected to the supernodes. Unlike the static alternative Disjoint Path Vector (DPV) algorithm, the focus of ADPV is to secure supernode connectivity in the presence of node failures...
New dimension reduction technique for brain decoding
Afrasiyabi, Arman; Yarman Vural, Fatoş Tunay; Department of Biomedical Engineering (2015)
A new architecture for dimension reduction, analyzing and decoding the discriminative information, distributed in function Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) data, is proposed. This architecture called Sparse Temporal Mesh Model (STMM) which consists of three phases with a visualization tool. In phase A, a univariate voxel selection method, based on the assumption that voxels are independent, is used to select the informative voxels among the whole brain voxels. For this purpose, one of feature selection met...
A Unified approach for center-based clustering problems on networks
Eroğlu, Derya İpek; İyigün, Cem; Department of Industrial Engineering (2018)
In this thesis, Center-Based Clustering Problems on Networks are studied. Four different problems are considered differing in the assignment scheme of the data points and the objective function. Two different assignment schemes are considered, hard assignment and soft assignment. In hard assignment, data points (vertices) are strictly assigned to one cluster, while in soft assignment, vertices are assigned to the multiple clusters with a membership probability. Objective function of a clustering problem cou...
An experimental study for simulation based assessment of information system design performance
Ayyildiz, Bulent; Akman, Ibrahim; Arifoğlu, Ali (2007-07-04)
This paper presents an experimental study for evaluating the decision support value of queueing network (QN) based simulation models for information system design performance. For illustration, queueing network simulation models have been extracted corressponding to three annotated design alternatives of a selected case study. The design alternatives are produced using logical requirements of the selected system. The performance of each alternative is then predicted using quantifiable parameters considering...
A hybrid genetic algorithm for the discrete time-cost trade-off problem
Sönmez, Rifat (2012-10-01)
In this paper we present a hybrid strategy developed using genetic algorithms (GAs), simulated annealing (SA), and quantum simulated annealing techniques (QSA) for the discrete time-cost trade-off problem (DTCTP). In the hybrid algorithm (HA), SA is used to improve hill-climbing ability of GA. In addition to SA, the hybrid strategy includes QSA to achieve enhanced local search capability. The HA and a sole GA have been coded in Visual C++ on a personal computer. Ten benchmark test problems with a range of 1...
