Liquid-(solid + liquid) transitions are studied in (CH3)CCl3 + CCl4 by using the Landau phenomelogical model. The Gibbs energy is expanded in terms of the orientational disorder (OD) parameters for the transitions of the liquid-(rhombohedral + liquid) and liquid-(face-centered cubic + liquid) in a two component system of (CH3)CCl3 + CCl4. From the Gibbs energy, the phase line equations are derived for the transitions studied and they are fitted to the observed T-X phase diagram of (CH3)CCl3 + CCl4 for the concentration (X) CCl4. Temperature and concentration dependences of the OD parameters (psi and eta) and the inverse susceptibility (chi psi-1 and chi eta-1) for the two transitions of interest, are predicted by using the melting curves of (CH3)CCl3 + CCl4 on the basis of the Landau phenomenological model. Our predictions, which can be compared with the experimental data, indicate that the first order transition of the liquid-(solid + liquid), in particular, for (CH3)CCl3 + CCl4 can be described satisfactorily by the Landau mean field model.

Temperature dependence of the Raman frequencies and bandwidths close to phase transitions in ammonium halides
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (2001-09-01)
In this study, we give the temperature dependence of our observed frequencies and bandwidths for the Raman optical modes in the ammonium halides close to the phase transitions of the first order (NH4 Br), tricritical (NH4Cl) and second order (NH4Cl). Using the predictions of an [sing pseudospin-phonon coupled model, which considers interactions between two spin and two phonons, our observed Raman data have been interpreted qualitatively. Our results show that an Ising model considered here can explain the o...
Temperature effects on the structural and optical properties of the TlInSe2xS2(1-x) mixed crystals (x=0.3)
Omar, A.; Qasrawi, A. F.; Hasanlı, Nızamı (2017-11-15)
In this work, we have studied the temperature effects on the recrystallization process and on the energy band gap of the TlInSe(2)xS(2(1 - x)) mixed crystals at the critical composition (x = 0.3) where structural phase transition from tetragonal to monoclinic takes place. Remarkable effect which included permanent recrystallization process, enlargements in the monoclinic crystallite size, decreases in the compressing strain and in the dislocation density as well as in the stacking faults and in the energy b...
LIQUID-LIQUID EQUILIBRIA OF TERNARY-SYSTEMS OF WATER PLUS ACETONE AND C-5-ALCOHOL AND C-8-ALCOHOL AT 298-K, 303-K AND 308-K
TIRYAKI, A; GURUZ, G; ORBEY, H (1994-03-15)
Ternary liquid-liquid phase equilibria (LLE) of water and acetone with 1-octanol, 2-octanol, 1-pentanol and isopentanol (3-methyl-1-butanol) at 298, 303 and 308 K are presented. With the exception of water + acetone + 1-octanol at 303 K, these systems have not been previously investigated at these temperatures. The data are successfully correlated using the NRTL model. The UNIFAC predictive model was also tested with the various group parameter databases.
T-P phase diagram of ammonia solid phases I, II and III
Enginer, Y; Salihoglu, S; Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (2002-01-01)
In this study, using the mean field theory, we obtain temperature versus pressure phase diagram for the liquid and solid phases I, II, and III of ammonia. We fit, our phase line equations to the experimentally observed data. There exists good agreement between the theoretical and experimental phase lines.
Hybrid mesons in the context of the relativistic equation
Zakout, I; Sever, Ramazan (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1997-08-01)
The flux tube model of hybrid mesons is studied in the context of the relativistic equation in the adiabatic approximation. The moment of inertia of the rigid-rod flux tube is considered in the kinetic part of the interaction. The nonrelativistic and relativistic one scalar bead flux tube is integrated numerically and compared with the adiabatic flux tube small oscillation approximation. The relativistic scalar bead picture suggests that the lowest gluonic excitation of a massive gluon is color octet q (q) ...
