Thermo-oxidative reactions of crude oils
Kök, Mustafa Verşan (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2011-08-01)
In this research, thermo-oxidative reactions of crude oils of different origin are determined in limestone matrix using simultaneous thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA) systems. Two different reaction regions were identified known as low temperature (LTO) and high temperature oxidation (HTO). Kinetic parameters of the samples were determined by four different methods and the results are discussed.
Thermal characterization of crude oils in the presence of limestone matrix by TGA-DTG-FTIR
Kök, Mustafa Verşan; Nurgaliev, Danis K. (2017-06-01)
In present work oxidation of two heavy oils in limestone matrix was studied using simultaneous thermo-gravimetry (TGA), derivative thermogravimetry (DTG) and FTIR-spectroscopy techniques in the temperature range from 25 to 900 degrees C. Before the measurements, the composition and properties of crude oils and limestone were evaluated. Obtained TG and DTG curves shows four different reaction regions: low temperature oxidation (LTO), fuel deposition (FD), high temperature oxidation (HTO) and decomposition of...
Application of TGA-MS technique for oil shale characterization and kinetics
Kök, Mustafa Verşan; Varfolomeev, Mikhail A.; Nurgaliev, Danis K.; Kandasamy, Jayaraman (2022-03-01)
Thermal characteristics and model free kinetics of four different oil shale samples were studied using simultaneous thermogravimetry-mass spectrometer (TGA-MS) analysis performed at three different heating rates and under air atmosphere. All the reaction regions and corresponding peak temperatures, mass loss, and the residue of oil shale samples were determined. Meanwhile, the main volatile products, primary alcohols, and aromatic compounds as products of oil shale combustion, were determined on the basis o...
Chemical evaluation and kinetics of Siberian, north regions of Russia and Republic of Tatarstan crude oils
Varfolomeev, Mikhail A.; Nagrimanov, Ruslan N.; Samatov, Aizat A.; Rakipov, Ilnaz T.; Nikanshin, Alexander D.; Vakhin, Alexey V.; Nurgaliev, Danis K.; Kök, Mustafa Verşan (2016-01-01)
In this research, thermal characteristics and model free kinetics of five different degrees American Petroleum Institute gravity crude oil samples from different locations were studied using combustion calorimetry and thermogravimetry (TGA) techniques. Higher heating values of crude oils were determined from the combustion calorimetry experiments. It was shown that these values increase with an increase in saturate fraction and degrees API gravity of studied samples and decrease with an increase in viscosit...
Thermal behavior and kinetics of crude oils at low heating rates by differential scanning calorimeter
Kök, Mustafa Verşan (2012-04-01)
The objective of this research was to investigate thermal behavior and kinetics of different origin crude oils in limestone matrix by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) at low heating rates. In DSC experiments, three distinct reaction regions were identified in all of the crude oil + limestone mixtures known as low temperature oxidation (LTO), fuel deposition (FD) and high temperature oxidation (HTO) respectively. Kinetic analysis of the crude oil samples was determined by different models known as AST...
