The design and performance characteristics of metamaterial-inspired electrically small, single, dual and triple band antennas at the GSM (1.93-1.99 GHz), ISM (2.43-2.4835 GHz), and WiMAX (3.3-3.6 GHz) frequencies are reported. These antennas are based on a coaxially fed printed dipole integrated in a planar configuration with capacitively loaded loops (CLLs) as its near-field resonant parasitic radiators. In the proposed topology, the number of operating frequencies is determined by the number of CLLs. These antennas are geometrically simple, operate as magnetic dipoles (directivities approximate to 1.6-2.0 dB), and have high (80%) radiation efficiencies at all of their operating frequencies. HIGH ISOLATION DUAL-POLARIZED BROADBAND ANTENNA FOR BASE STATIONS
Ciydem, Mehmet; Koç, Seyit Sencer (Wiley, 2015-03-01)
A broadband (1.71-2.17 GHz), high isolation, and dual-polarized suspended plate antenna (SPA) is presented. Modified L-probe feed is used for broadband matching and capacitive coupling. Port isolation between two orthogonally polarized channels is improved by making extensions on suspended plates (SPs) and inserting a vertical ungrounded square tube under the first SP (SP1). The prototyped SPA resulted in 8 +/- 0.5 dBi gain and 67 degrees +/- 66 degrees symmetric E-plane and H-plane radiation patterns with ...
Ultrathin thermally stable multiband metamaterial absorber design for solar energy applications
Mulla, Batuhan; Sabah, Cumali (SPIE-Intl Soc Optical Eng, 2018-01-01)
A dual band metamaterial absorber is designed for photovoltaic applications. The novelty of the design provides the absorption of the energy in an ultrathin semiconductor layer. Additionally, dependence of the absorption on the geometric dimensions, polarization, and temperature are also discussed. The results for the thermal characterization of the aforementioned design showed that this absorber operates almost independently from the environmental temperature conditions and the polarization of the light. A...
QWIP focal plane arrays on InP substrates for single and dual band thermal imagers
Eker, S. U.; Arslan, Y.; Kaldirim, M.; Beşikci, Cengiz (Elsevier BV, 2009-11-01)
Alternative material systems on InP substrate provide certain advantages for mid-wavelength infrared (MWIR), long-wavelength infrared (LWIR) and dual band MWIR/LWIR quantum well infrared photodetector (QWIP) focal plane arrays (FPAs). While InP/InGaAs and InP/InGaAsP LWIR QWIPs provide much higher responsivity, when compared to the AlGaAs/CaAs QWIPs, AllnAs/InGaAs system facilitates completely lattice matched single band MWIR and dual band MWIR/LWIR FPAs.
Antenna-based microwave absorber for imaging in the frequencies of 1.8, 2.45, and 5.8 GHz

We propose a microwave imaging structure with GSM, ISM, Wi-Fi, and WiMAX operating frequencies at 1.80, 2.45, and 5.80 GHz, respectively. The suggested structure is based on a microwave antenna-inspired absorber with cavities in resonator layers. Our study, which is validated using simulation and experimental techniques, deals with the absorption of the incident electromagnetic waves at 1.80, 2.45, and 5.80 GHz for creating the image when radio frequency microwave is employed. The above-mentioned three oper...
Electrical characteristics of organic heterojunction with an alternating benzotriazole and fluorene containing copolymer
Gullu, H.H.; Yildiz, D.E.; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Çırpan, Ali (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2020-01-01)
The current–voltage (I−V) and capacitance–voltage (C−V) characteristics of the organic heterojunction diode were investigated in a wide temperature range from 80 to 320 K and frequency range from 10 kHz to 1 MHz, respectively. Alternative to the copolymer partner poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) to [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM), poly((9,9-dioctylfluorene)-2,7-diyl-(4,7-bis(thien-2-yl)2-dodecyl-benzo[1,2,3]triazole)) (named as copolymer in this work) was adapted to the bulk-heterojunction la...
