The resistivity of liquid Li-Sn and Na-Pb alloys is calculated using the theory of ‘‘2 k F ’’ scattering theory recently developed by Morgan et al. The partial structure factors are described by the mean-spherical approximation for a system of hard spheres with Yukawa tails. The calculated resistivity values are in very good agreement with experiment. The improvement over the widely used Faber-Ziman formalism is impressive.

ELECTRICAL RESISTIVITIES OF LIQUID AL-MG AND AL-CU ALLOYS
KHAJIL, TMA; Tomak, Mehmet (1989-05-01)
The electrical resistivity of liquid Al−Mg and Al−Cu alloys is calculated using both the Faber-Ziman and «2k F» scattering theories. The partial structure factors are described by the hard-sphere system. The calculated resistivity values are in qualitative agreement with available experimental data.
Nonlinear vibrations of curved single and doublewalled carbon nanotubes /
Samandari, Hamed; Ciğeroğlu, Ender; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2014)
In this thesis, effects of Geometric, initial curvature, and van der Waals (vdW) interlayer force nonlinearities on the variation of nonlinear natural frequency of Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) are investigated in detail throughout several case studies. Galerkin method with a single trial function, which is the eigenfunction of the linear system, is widely used in literature in studying nonlinear vibrations of CNTs. However, eigenfunctions of the nonlinear systems can be significantly different than the eigenfunc...
Quantum chemical investigation of thalidomide molecule
Erkoç, Şakir; Erkoc, F (Elsevier BV, 2005-04-14)
The structural and electronic properties of the thalidomide molecule have been investigated theoretically by performing semi-empirical molecular orbital (AM1) and density functional theory calculations. The geometry of the molecule has been optimized by AM1 method and the electronic properties of the molecule have been calculated by density functional theory in its ground state.
Resveratrol and its analogues resveratrol-dihydroxyl isomers: semi-empirical SCF-MO calculations
Erkoç, Şakir; Keskin, N; Erkoc, F (Elsevier BV, 2003-08-01)
The structural and electronic properties of resveratrol and its three analogues resveratrol-dihydroxyl isomers have been investigated theoretically by performing semi-empirical self-consistent field molecular orbital theory calculations. The geometry of the systems have been optimized and the electronic properties have been calculated at the level of AMI method.
Thermal analysis applications in fossil fuel science - Literature survey
Kök, Mustafa Verşan (2002-01-01)
In this study, instances where thermal analysis techniques ( differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetry, differential thermal analysis, etc.) have been applied for fossil fuel characterisation and kinetics are reviewed. The scientific results presented clearly showed that thermal analysis is a well-established technique used in fossil fuel research area. The literature survey showed that thermal methods were important not only theoretically but also from a practical point of view.
