We consider a hydrodynamic type system, waterbag model, that admits a dispersionless Lax representation with a logarithmic Lax function. Using the Lax representation, we construct a recursion operator of the system. We note that the constructed recursion operator is not compatible with the natural Hamiltonian representation of the system.

ON OPERATORS OF STRONG TYPE B
Alpay, Safak (2012-10-01)
We discuss operators of strong type B between a Banach lattice and a Banach space and give necessary and sufficient conditions for this class of operators to coincide with weakly compact operators.
Permanence of nonautonomous ratio dependent predator prey systems with piecewise constant argument of generalized type
Akhmet, Marat; Xıaoyan, Lıu (2008-01-01)
In this paper, we investigate the dynamics of nonautonomous ratio-dependent predator-prey systems with piecewise constant argument of generalized type (PCAG) [3]. Sufficient conditions are established for some related qualitative properties such as positive invariance, permanence and non-persistence of the systems. Keywords. Piecewise constant argument of generalized type, predator-prey systems, ratio-dependent response, permanence, non-persistence. AMS (MOS) subject classification: 34A36, 34K12, 34K25.
Recursion operators of some equations of hydrodynamic type
GÜRSES, METİN; Zheltukhın, Kostyantyn (2001-03-01)
We give a general method for constructing recursion operators for some equations of hydrodynamic type, admitting a nonstandard Lax representation. We give several examples for N=2 and N=3 containing the equations of shallow water waves and its generalizations with their first two general symmetries and their recursion operators. We also discuss a reduction of N+1 systems to N systems of some new equations of hydrodynamic type. (C) 2001 American Institute of Physics.
Multidimensional cyclic codes and Artin–Schreier type hypersurfaces over finite fields
Güneri, Cem; Özbudak, Ferruh (Elsevier BV, 2008-1)
We obtain a trace representation for multidimensional cyclic codes via Delsarte's theorem. This relates the weights of the codewords to the number of affine rational points of Artin-Schreier type hypersurfaces over finite fields. Using Deligne's and Hasse-Weil-Serre inequalities we get bounds on the minimum distance. Comparison of the bounds is made and illustrated by examples. Some applications of our results are given. We obtain a bound on certain character sums over F-2 which gives better estimates than ...
The strong coupling constants of excited positive parity heavy mesons in light-cone QCD
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (1997-01-02)
We calculate the strong coupling constants g(p**p*pi), where P** (D**, B**) is the 1(+) p-wave state, in the framework of the light-cone QCD sum rules, and using these values of g(p**p*pi), we compute the hadronic decay widths for D** --> D*pi and B** --> B*pi.
