We have carried out thermally stimulated current (TSC) measurements on as-grown Tl2Ga2S3Se layered single crystals in the temperature range 10-60 K with different heating rates of 0.6-1.5 K s(1). The data were analyzed by curve fitting, initial rise, and peak shape methods. The results were in good agreement with each other. Experimental evidence was obtained for trapping center in Tl2Ga2S3Se crystal with activation energy of 11 meV. The capture cross section and concentration of the traps were found to be 1.5 x 10(-23) cm(2) and 1.44 x 10(10) cm(-3), respectively. Analysis of the TSC data at different light excitation temperatures leads to a value of 18 meV/decade for the traps distribution.

ANALYSIS OF HEAT CAPACITY AND GLASS TRANSITION IN AMORPHOUS ICE
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2010-07-10)
We analyze the heat capacity C(P) for low and high-density amorphous ice below the transition temperature (T(C) approximate to 140 K) using a power-law formula. The renormalized critical exponent alpha(R) is extracted from the observed C(P) data, which describes similar critical behavior for both low and high-density amorphous ice below T(C). Our analysis can also describe a glass transition in the low-density amorphous ice which is made from the high-density amorphous ice at 124 K, as observed experimentally.
CALCULATION OF THE RAMAN FREQUENCIES AT LOW PRESSURES AND TEMPERATURES (sigma-PHASE) SOLID NITROGEN
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2013-09-20)
We calculate the Raman frequencies of the E-g mode and, the low and high frequency T-g mode as a function of temperature at a constant pressure of 2.85 kbar in the alpha-phase of solid nitrogen. The Raman frequencies of those lattice modes are calculated using the volume data from the literature at various temperatures (2.85 kbar) for the alpha-phase of solid N-2 through the mode Gruneisen parameter. Our predicted Raman frequencies can be compared with the experimental data and by this method the Raman freq...
Calculation of the specific heat for the first order phase transition in NH4Br
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit; Sherman, WF (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 1998-11-01)
We calculate in this work the specific heat C-VI using the predictions of an Ising model for the NH4Br crystal (T-C = 234 K, P = 0). Our calculated C-VI values are in good agreement with the experimentally observed C-p data from the literature. This shows that the observed behavior of NH4Br can be described adequately in the lattice region under an Ising model studied here.
Study of phase transitions in polymorphic liquid crystals
Nesrullajev, A; Salihoglu, S; Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 1998-01-01)
This work presents our investigations of mezomorphic properties of two polymorphic liquid crystals, namely, 4-nonyloxy-4-butoxyphenyl benzoate and N-(-4-heptyloxybenzylidene-4-butylaniline) in a wide temperature range, particularly, in the phase transition regions. By means of an original Experimental method. the heterophase regions and also the phase transition temperatures have been determined for these materials with high accuracy. These phase transition intervals have been analyzed using a mean field mo...
Determination of trapping parameters in n-Ga4Se3S by thermally stimulated current measurements
Goksen, K.; Hasanlı, Nızamı (Informa UK Limited, 2009-01-01)
Thermally stimulated current (TSC) measurements were carried out on as-grown n-Ga4Se3S layered crystals in the temperature range 10-300 K. The experimental data were analysed by using different heating rates, initial rise, curve fitting and isothermal decay methods. The results of the analysis showed good agreement with each other. The measurements revealed the presence of one trapping level with activation energy of 23 meV. The corresponding capture cross-section and concentration of traps were found to be...
