Phase equilibrium of asymmetric systems by predictive equations of state models
Orbey, H; Balci, C; Guruz, GA (2002-03-06)
In this study the modified Wong-Sandler (WS), the modified Huron-Vidal second-order (MHV2), and the Orbey-Sandler (HVOS) mixing rules were used for phase equilibrium correlation of carbon dioxide in n-alkanes, alcohols and water systems. Their correlative and predictive capabilities were compared. In all of these calculations, the Peng-Robinson-Stryjek-Vera (PRSV) equation of state (EOS) was used. It was found that the correlation capacity of the WS mixing rule is better than the HVOS mixing rule. The MHV2 ...

Residual Lifetime of Consecutive k-out-of-n Systems Under Double Monitoring
ERYILMAZ, SERKAN; Bayramoglu, Konul (2012-09-01)
The consecutive k-out-of-n systems are important structures in reliability engineering due to their applications in various real life situations. In this paper, we study the residual lifetime of these systems under the condition that the total number of failed components at time is, and at time t(2) (t(2) > t(1)) the system is still working. We obtain explicit expressions for the survival function of the corresponding residual life when the components are exchangeably dependent. We also obtain a signature-b...
