Analysis of the Lambda b -> Lambda l(+)l(-) decay in QCD

Taking into account the Lambda baryon distribution amplitudes and the most general form of the interpolating current of the Lambda(b), the semileptonic Lambda(b) --> Lambda l(+)l(-) transition is investigated in the framework of the light cone QCD sum rules. Sum rules for all 12 form factors responsible for the Lambda(b) --> Lambda l(+)l(-) decay are constructed. The obtained results for the form factors are used to compute the branching fraction. A comparison of the obtained results with the existing predictions of the heavy quark effective theory is presented. The results of the branching ratio shows the detectability of this channel at the Large Hadron Collider beauty in the near future is quite high.

ANALYTIC AND ASYMPTOTIC PROPERTIES OF LINNIKS PROBABILITY DENSITIES
HAYFAVI, A; KOTZ, S; OSTROVSKII, IV (1994-11-03)
The analytic and asymptotic properties of the probability density p(alpha) (x) introduced in 1953 by Ju. V. Linnik and defined by the characteristic function 1/(1 + \t\(alpha)), 0 < alpha < 2, are studied. Expansions of p(alpha) (x) into convergent and asymptotic series in terms of log \x\, \x\(k alpha) , \x\(k) (k = 0, 1, 2,...) are obtained. It turns out that the analytic structure of p(alpha) (x) depends substantially on the arithmetical nature of the parameter alpha.
Sigma(Q)Lambda(Q) transition magnetic moments in light cone QCD sum rules
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Özpineci, Altuğ; Savcı, Mustafa (2002-05-01)
Using the general form of Sigma(Q) and Lambda(Q) (Q=b or c) currents, Sigma(Q)Lambda(Q) transition magnetic moments are calculated in the framework of the light cone QCD sum rules method. In this approach nonperturbative effects are described by the photon wave functions and only two-particle photon wave functions are taken into account. Our predictions of the transition magnetic moments are mu(Sigmac)Lambda(c)=-(1.5+/-0.4)mu(N) and mu(Sigmab)Lambda(b)=-(1.6+/-0.4)mu(N). A comparison of our results with the...
Strong coupling constants of heavy spin-3/2 baryons with light pseudoscalar mesons
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (2011-11-01)
The strong coupling constants among members of the heavy spin-3/2 baryons containing single heavy quark with light pseudoscalar mesons are calculated in the framework of the light cone QCD sum rules. Using symmetry arguments, some structure independent relations among different correlation functions are obtained. It is shown that all possible transitions can be described in terms of one universal invariant function whose explicit expression is Lorenz structure dependent.
Strong Coupling Constants of Heavy Baryons With Light Mesons in QCD
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (2012-06-21)
The strong coupling constants of the heavy spin-1/2 and spin-3/2 baryons with light pseudoscalar and vector mesons are calculated in the framework of the light cone QCD sum rules. Using the symmetry arguments, some structure independent relations among different correlation functions are obtained. It is shown that all possible transitions are described by only one invariant function, whose explicit expression is structure dependent.
Doubly heavy spin-1/2 baryon spectrum in QCD
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (2012-12-01)
We calculate the mass and residue of the heavy spin-1/2 baryons containing two heavy h or c quarks in the framework of QCD sum rules. We use the most general form of the interpolating current in its symmetric and anti-symmetric forms with respect to the exchange of heavy quarks, to calculate the two-point correlation functions describing the baryons under consideration. A comparison of the obtained results with existing predictions from various approaches is also made.
