Forward-backward asymmetries in Lambda(b)->Lambda l(+)l(-) decay beyond the standard model

We study the doubly-polarized lepton pair forward-backward asymmetries in Lambda(b) --> Lambdae(+)e(-) decay using a general, model independent form of the effective Hamiltonian. We present the general expression for nine doubly-polarized forward-backward asymmetries. It is observed that, the study of the forward-backward asymmetries of the doubly-polarized lepton pair is a very useful tool for establishing new physics beyond the standard model. Moreover, the con-elation between forward-backward asymmetry and branching ratio is investigated. It is shown that there exist certain regions of the new Wilson coefficients where new physics can be established by measuring the polarized forward-backward asymmetry only.

Measurement of the inclusive Z cross section via decays to tau pairs in pp collisions at root s=7 TeV
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2011-08-01)
The first measurement of inclusive Z > tau(+) tau(-) production in pp collisions at the LHC is presented, in the final states mu+hadrons, e+hadrons, e-mu, and mu+mu. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 36 pb(-1) collected with the CMS detector. The measured cross section is sigma (pp -> ZX) x B (Z -> tau(+)tau(-)) = 1.00 +/- 0.05 (stat.)+/- 0.08 (syst.) +/- 0.04 (lumi.) nb, which is in good agreement with the next-to-next-to-leading order QCD prediction and improves on previous measur...
CP asymmetry in charged Higgs decays to chargino-neutralino pairs
Frank, Mariana; Turan, İsmail (American Physical Society (APS), 2007-10-01)
We analyze the charge-parity (CP) asymmetry in the charged Higgs boson decays to chargino-neutralino pairs, H-+/- -> chi(+/-)(i)chi(0)(j), i = 1, 2, j = 1,...,4. We show first that these modes have a large branching ratio for m(H)(+/-) greater than or similar to 600 GeV. We use Cutkosky rules to obtain the analytical formulas needed for the evaluation of the asymmetry under consideration. We then calculate the CP asymmetry in chargino-neutralino decays by including supersymmetric mass bounds, as well as con...
Strong coupling constants of decuplet baryons with vector mesons
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (American Physical Society (APS), 2010-11-10)
We provide a comprehensive study of strong coupling constants of decuplet baryons with light nonet vector mesons in the framework of light cone QCD sum rules. Using the symmetry arguments, we argue that all coupling constants entering the calculations can be expressed in terms of only one invariant function even if the SU(3)(f) symmetry breaking effects are taken into account. We estimate the order of SU(3)(f) symmetry violations, which are automatically considered by the employed approach.
Leading order analysis of neutrino induced dimuon events in the CHORUS experiment
Kayis-Topaksu, A.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2008-07-21)
We present a leading order QCD analysis of a sample of neutrino induced charged-current events with two muons in the final state originating in the lead-scintillating fibre calorimeter of the CHORUS detector. The results are based on a sample of 8910 neutrino and 430 antineutrino induced opposite-sign dimuon events collected during the exposure of the detector to the CERN Wide Band Neutrino Beam between 1995 and 1998. The analysis yields a value of the charm quark mass of m(c) = (1.26 +/- 0.16 +/- 0.09) GeV...
The semileptonic B to K-1(1270,1400) decays in QCD sum rules
Dag, H.; Özpineci, Altuğ; Zeyrek, Mehmet Tevfik (IOP Publishing, 2011-01-01)
We analyze the semileptonic rare decays of the B meson to K-1(1270) and K-1(1400) axial vector mesons. The B -> K-1(1270, 1400)l(+)l(-) decays are significant flavor-changing neutral current decays of the B meson. These decays are sensitive to the new physics beyond the standard model (SM), since these processes are forbidden at tree level at SM. These decays occurring at the quark level via b -> sl(+)l(-) transition also provide new opportunities for calculating the CKM matrix elements V-bt and V-ts. In th...
