We analyze top-quark flavor violating decays into a charm quark and a gluon, photon, or Z boson in a supersymmetric model incorporating left-right symmetry. We include loop calculations involving contributions from scalar quarks, gluinos, charginos, and neutralinos. We perform the calculations first assuming the minimal (flavor-diagonal) scalar quark scenario and then allowing for arbitrary mixing between the second and the third generation of scalar quarks, in both the up and the down sectors. In each case we present separately the contributions from gluino, chargino, and neutralino loops and compare their respective strengths. In the flavor-diagonal case, the branching ratio cannot exceed 10(-5) (10(-6)) for the gluon (photon/Z boson); while for the unconstrained (flavor-nondiagonal) case the same branching ratios can reach almost 10(-4) for the gluon, 10(-6) for the photon, and 10(-5) for the Z boson, all of which are slightly below the expected reach of LHC.

Magnetic dipole moment of the light tensor mesons in light cone QCD sum rules
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (IOP Publishing, 2010-07-01)
The magnetic dipole moments of the light tensor mesons f(2), a(2) and the strange K-2*(0)(1430) tensor meson are calculated in the framework of the light cone QCD sum rules. It is observed that the values of the magnetic dipole moment for the charged tensor particles are considerably different from zero. These values are very close to zero for the light neutral f(2) and a(2) tensor mesons, while it has a small nonzero value for the neutral strange K-2*(0)(1430) tensor meson.
Universal extra dimensions and Kaluza-Klein bound states
Carone, CD; Conroy, JM; Sher, M; Turan, İsmail (American Physical Society (APS), 2004-04-01)
We study the bound states of the Kaluza-Klein (KK) excitations of quarks in certain models of universal extra dimensions. Such bound states may be detected at future lepton colliders in the cross section for the pair production of KK quarks near threshold. For typical values of model parameters, we find that "KK quarkonia" have widths in the 10-100 MeV range, and production cross sections of the order of a few picobarns for the lightest resonances. Two body decays of the constituent KK quarks lead to distin...
Associative photoproduction of charmed particles near threshold
Rekalo, MP; Tomasi-Gustafsson, E (Elsevier BV, 2001-02-15)
We calculate the cross section and the beam asymmetry for exclusive photoproduction of charmed particles near threshold (gamma + p --> Lambda (+)(c) (D-0) over bar), in the framework of an effective Lagrangian model. We discuss the sensitivity of these observables to the magnetic moment of the Lambda (c) baryon and of the coupling constant in the p Lambda D-c vertex. We show that exclusive measurements allow, in principle, to determine the magnetic moments of charmed baryons. (C) 2001 Published by Elsevier ...
Rare decay of the top t -> cgg in the standard model
Eilam, G; Frank, M; Turan, İsmail (American Physical Society (APS), 2006-03-01)
We calculate the one-loop flavor changing neutral current top quark decay t -> cgg in the standard model. We demonstrate that the rate for t -> cgg exceeds the rate for a single gluon emission t -> cg by about 2 orders of magnitude, while the rate for t -> cq (q) over bar q=u is slightly smaller than for t -> cg.
Strong coupling constant of negative parity octet baryons with light pseudoscalar mesons in light cone QCD sum rules
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (Elsevier BV, 2017-01-01)
The strong coupling constants of the pi and K mesons with negative parity octet baryons are estimated within the light cone QCD sum rules. It is observed that all strong coupling constants, similarly to the case for the positive parity baryons, can be described in terms of three invariant functions, where two of them correspond to the well known F and D couplings in the SU (3)(f) symmetry, and the third function describes the SU(3)(f) symmetry violating effects. We compare our predictions on the strong coup...
