In this research, pour point and rheological experiments were carried out on three different crude oils those doped with pour point depressant. It was observed that when the amount of pour point depressant was increased from 500 to 2,000 ppm, pour points of all the crude oils were decreased considerably. In rheological experiments, shear rate versus shear stress values were obtained for all the crude oil samples with and without additives. It was observed that the Bingham Plastic model excellently fit the experimental data with the correlation coefficient > 0.999.

The effects of metallic catalysts on light crude oil oxidation in limestone medium
Celebioglu, D; Bağcı, Ali Suat (2002-08-20)
In this study, 28 experiments were performed to study the effects of metallic additives on light crude oil oxidation in limestone medium. Karakus and Beykan crude oils from Turkish oil fields were used. The metallic additives were ferric chloride (FeCl3) copper chloride (CuCl) and magnesium chloride (MgCl(2)(.)6H(2)O). The mixture of aqueous solutions of three metallic salts with limestone and the crude oils was subjected to a controlled heating schedule under a constant flow rate of air. The produced gas w...
The effect of 3-hydroxyphenylboronic acid on thermal characteristics of polybenzoxazine based on phenol and 4-aminomethylbenzoate
Ipek, Halil; Hacaloğlu, Jale (2020-07-01)
In this study, a polybenzoxazine, (PPab) based on phenol and 4-aminomethyl benzoate and its composites containing various amounts of 3-hydroxyphenylboronic acid, (HB) were prepared by stepwise curing. It has been found that thermal properties of composites were improved as the amount of HB introduced was increased. The improvements in thermal characteristics were associated with condensation reactions of hydroxyl groups of polybenzoxazine and ester groups on the aniline linkages yielding a highly cross-link...
The effects of some methacrylate monomers used as liquid component on tensile and flexural strengths of a poly (methyl methacrylate) denture base resin
Do'an, Orhan Murat; Bolayir, Giray; Keskin, Selda; Boztug, Ali; Do'an, Arife; Bek, Buelent (2006-12-01)
This study was conducted to observe the effect of different monomers on tensile and flexural strengths of poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) denture base resin when they were used as a liquid component. A conventional heat-cured denture base polymer powder was mixed with ethyl, isobutyl and tert-butyl methacrylate monomers, respectively. After the polymerization process was completed, the tensile and flexural strength values of these specimens were compared with those that of PMMA resin specimens polymerized...
The effect of aromatic diboronic acid on characteristics of polybenzoxazine based on phenol and 4-aminomethylbenzoate
İPEK, HALİL; Hacaloğlu, Jale (2018-11-23)
In this study, a polybenzoxazine, (PPab) based on phenol and 4-aminomethyl benzoate and its composites containing various amounts of 1,4-benzene diboronic acid, (BDBA) were synthesized by stepwise curing. It has been determined that both thermal stability and char yield were increased as the amount of BDBA incorporated was increased. The improvements in thermal characteristics were associated with condensation reactions of B-OH of BDBA and not only with hydroxyl groups of polybenzoxazine but also ester grou...
The Photocatalytic activity of praseodymium doped titanium dioxide
Doğu, Doruk; Karakaş, Gürkan; Ögel, Bilgehan; Department of Micro and Nanotechnology (2012)
In this study nanocrystalline TiO2 was synthesized by a sol-gel process. The effect of praseodymium (Pr) doping and calcination conditions on the textural properties of nano structured particles and photocatalytic activity were examined. Samples were synthesized by hydrolyzation of titanium tetra iso-propoxide (TTIP) and calcination at different temperatures. Characterizations of the samples were carried out using XRD, BET, XPS, TEM, and EDAX analyses. It was observed that anatase to rutile transformation i...
