Modelling and control of a wind energy conversion system
Sarıbatır, Behçet M.; Sezer, Mesut E. (Informa UK Limited, 1987-7)
The dynamical model of a novel low power wind energy conversion system consisting of a wind turbine, an induction generator, a PWM a.c. inverter and a d.c. battery group is obtained. A feedback control law is developed to provide optimum power conversion and arbitrarily fast responses at steady-state. The feedback does not require measurement of the wind speed and therefore is suitable for real applications. The stability of the closed-loop system is analysed using a Liapunov-type practical stability criter...
Modelling and efficiency optimisation of UHF Dickson rectifiers
Gharehbaghi, Kaveh; Zorlu, Ozge; Kocer, Fatih; Külah, Haluk (2016-11-01)
This paper presents a new time-efficient modelling approach for UHF Dickson rectifiers. Due to the very low computation time, the approach can provide a quick and effective alternative to the standard transient simulations. The presented approach results in better estimation of the generated DC voltage and power conversion efficiency compared with the similar works in the literature. For the first time, an accurate mathematical relationship, including the non-zero reverse current, is expressed for finding t...

Modelling and assessment of landfill gas generation at afyonkarahisar landfill site
Karayılan, Sevde; Aksoy, Ayşegül; Department of Environmental Engineering (2018)
Management of municipal solid wastes is one of the important environmental problems because of increasing population and developing industrialization in our country. Besides, there is a need to seek alternative energy sources due to rapid consumption of conventional energy sources. Landfilling is still the most common solid waste disposal method in the world and generated landfill gas consists of significant amount of methane that could be used for energy generation. In this study, it is aimed to model the ...
