Liquid properties of Pd-Ni alloys
Kart, SO; Tomak, Mehmet; Uludogan, M; Cagin, T (2004-07-01)
Liquid properties of Pd-Ni metal alloys are computed by molecular dynamics (MD) simulation with the use of quantum SuttonChen potential (Q-SC) model. The thermodynamical, structural, and transport properties of the alloy are investigated. The melting temperatures for Pd-Ni system are predicted. The temperature and concentration dependence of diffusion coefficient and viscosity are reported. The transferability of the potential is tested by simulating the liquid state. The values of melting point are in exce...

Liquid chromatography as a novel method for determination of the dispersion of supported Fd particles
Kiraly, Zoltan; Mastalir, Agnes; Csaszar, Agota; Demir, Hilal; Üner, Deniz; Findenegg, Gerhard H. (Elsevier BV, 2007-01-25)
A solution-based method has been developed for determination of the number of active centers on Pd particles responsible for alkene hydrogenation in the liquid phase. Pd/gamma-Al2O3 was placed in a liquid chromatographic (LC) column, and the CS2 uptake of the catalyst was determined by applying CS2 pulses in methanol solution until surface saturation was attained. The reliability of the LC method was confirmed by quantitative CS2 poisoning of the catalyst in the liquid-phase hydrogenation of styrene to ethy...

The aim of this thesis study was to investigate the effects of composition and sintering variables on the microstructural characteristics of W-rich W-Ni-Co heavy alloys. W-Ni-Co alloys containing 90 to 97 wt% W and different Ni/Co ratios were investigated in the study. The alloys studied were produced by applying conventional powder metallurgy methods and subjected to microstructural and mechanical characterization by using suitable techniques. All of the alloys investigated reached almost full density when...
