Rutile TiO2 nanorods on fluorine-doped thin oxide glass substrates via the hydrothermal technique were synthesized and decorated with a sputtered CdTe layer to fabricate a core-shell type n-TiO2/p-CdTe solar cell. Absorbance spectrum verified the absorption contribution of both TiO2 and CdTe to the absorption process. The solar cell parameters, such as open circuit voltage, short circuit current density, fill factor and power conversion efficiency were found to be 0.34 V , 1.27 mA cm(-2), 28% and 0.12%, respectively. A novel experimental and density functional theory study on palladium and nitrogen doped few layer graphene surface towards glucose adsorption and electrooxidation
Caglar, Aykut; Duzenli, Derya; Önal, Işık; Tezsevin, Ilker; Sahin, Ozlem; Demir Kıvrak, Hilal (Elsevier BV, 2021-03-01)
At present, few layer graphene (G) and nitrogen doped few layer graphene (N doped-G) are firstly coated on Cu foil via chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method and G and N doped-G coated Cu foil is transferred to the indium tin oxide (ITO) substrate surface to obtain electrodes. Pd metal is electrodeposited onto the N doped-G/ITO electrode (Pd-N doped-G/ITO). Pd-N doped-G/ITO electrode are characterized with advanced surface characterization methods such as Raman spectroscopy and SEM-EDX. Characterization res...
Heterojunction solar cells with integrated Si and ZnO nanowires and a chalcopyrite thin film
KARAAĞAÇ, Hakan; Parlak, Mehmet; YENGEL, Emre; Islam, M. Saif (Elsevier BV, 2013-06-15)
ZnO nanowires (NWs) have been successfully synthesized using a hydrothermal technique on both glass and silicon substrates initially coated with a sputtered ZnO thin film layer. Varying ZnO seed layer thicknesses were deposited to determine the effect of seed layer thickness on the quality of ZnO NW growth. The effect of growth time on the formation of ZnO NWs was also studied. Experimental results show that these two parameters have an important effect on formation, homogeneity and vertical orientation of ...
A Novel Acetylcholinesterase Biosensor: Core-Shell Magnetic Nanoparticles Incorporating a Conjugated Polymer for the Detection of Organophosphorus Pesticides
Cancar, Hurija Dzudzevic; SÖYLEMEZ, Saniye; AKPINAR, Yeliz; KESİK, Melis; Goker, SEZA; Günbaş, Emrullah Görkem; Volkan, Mürvet; Toppare, Levent Kamil (American Chemical Society (ACS), 2016-03-30)
To construct a sensing interface, in the present work, a conjugated polymer and core shell magnetic nano particle containing biosensor was constructed for the pesticide analysis. The monomer 4,7-di(furan-2-yl)benzo [c] [1,2,5]-thiadiazole (FBThF) and core shell magnetic nanoparticles were designed and synthesized for fabrication of the biosensing device. The magnetic nanoparticles were first treated with silica and then modified using carboxyl groups, which enabled binding of the biomolecules covalently. Fo...
A comparative ab initio study of the ferroelectric behaviour in KNO3 and CaCO3
Aydınol, Mehmet Kadri; Alpay, S. P. (IOP Publishing, 2007-12-12)
Potassium nitrate exhibits a reentrant phase transformation, where a metastable ferroelectric phase (gamma-KNO3) is formed upon cooling from high temperature. The layered structure of this ferroelectric phase is composed of alternating layers of potassium ions and nitrate groups; wherein, a central nitrogen atom is coordinated by three equilateral triangular oxygen atoms. The group layer is located less than midway between the cation layers, giving rise to a polar structure. From a structural perspective, t...
Analysis of the Hall effect in TlGaTe2 single crystals
QASRAWI, ATEF FAYEZ HASAN; Hasanlı, Nızamı (IOP Publishing, 2009-06-10)
The electrical resistivity and Hall coefficient of p-type TlGaTe2 crystals were measured in the temperature range of 110-320 K. The electrical resistivity, charge carrier density and Hall mobility data for the crystals have been analyzed by means of existing theories and models to determine the extrinsic energy levels, the carrier effective mass, the donor and acceptor concentrations and the dominant scattering mechanism in the crystal as well. The analysis of the temperature-dependent electrical resistivit...
