Thermoreversible gelation behaviour of PTMC-PEG-PTMC triblock copolymers

2008-12-18
Bat, Erhan
Feijen, J.
Triblock copolymers of trimethylene carbonate (TMC) and polyethylene glycol (PEG) were synthesized. Their gelation behaviour in water and the properties of the gels were investigated by particle size measurements, the vial tilting method, and dynamic rheology. As the temperature was decreased, the average particle size increased and sol-to-gel transition was observed. The storage modulus of these thermoreversible gels ranged from 220 Pa to 4700 Pa depending on the composition and concentration of the copolymer.

Electrochemical and optical properties of novel terthienyl based azobenzene, coumarine and fluorescein containing polymers: Multicolored electrochromic polymers
Yigit, Deniz; Udum, Yasemin Arslan; GÜLLÜ, Mustafa; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2014-01-01)
Three electroactive terthienyl based monomers, namely 1-phenyl-2-[4-(2,2':5',2 ''-terthien-3'-ylmethoxy)phenyl]diazene (TTAz), 4-(2,2':5',2 ''-terthien-3'-ylmethoxy)-2H-chromen-2-one (TTCo) and methyl 2-[3-oxo-6-(2,2':5',2 ''-terthien-3'-ylmethoxy)-3H-xanthen-9-yl] benzoate (TTFlo), were synthesized with good yields and their conducting polymers were electrochemically prepared on ITO electrode surfaces. The effect of chromophore type on electrochemical and optical properties of the polymers was investigated...
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon-substituted push-pull chromophores: an investigation of optoelectronic and nonlinear optical properties using experimental and theoretical approaches
Dengiz, Çağatay (2021-01-01)
A series of new push-pull chromophores were synthesized in moderate to very high yields (65%-97%) by treating TCNE and TCNQ with alkynes substituted by electron-rich diethylaniline and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Some of the chromophores exhibit strong intramolecular charge-transfer bands in the near-1R region with lambda(max). values between 695 and 749 nm. With the help of experimental and theoretical analysis, it is concluded that the trend in lambda(max) values is affected by PAH substituents ster...
Solution Processable Benzotriazole, Benzimidazole and Biphenyl Containing Conjugated Copolymers for Optoelectronic Applications
Kaya Deniz, Tuğba; Çırpan, Ali; Department of Polymer Science and Technology (2012)
The synthesis and optoelectronic properties of biphenyl based conjugated copolymers with varying acceptor units in the polymer backbone were investigated. The well known Donor-Acceptor Theory was used to establish the synthetic pathway for the structural modifications. Solubility issues regarding biphenyl polymer was solved by copolymerizing with soluble units. For this purpose; poly 4-(biphenyl-4-yl)- 4’-tert butylspiro[benzo[d]imidazole-2,1’-cyclohexane] (P1), poly 4-(biphenyl-4-yl)- 2- dodecyl-2H-benzo[d...
Covalent immobilization of glucose isomerase on poly(2-hydoxyethyl methacrylate) particles
Yıldız, Ümit Hakan; Hasırcı, Nesrin; Department of Chemistry (2004)
In this study, poly (2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate), P(HEMA), particles were prepared by suspension polymerization of the monomer 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate with addition of ethylene glycol dimethyacrylate, EGDMA, as cross linker. Glucose isomerase, GI, enzyme was covalently immobilized on the prepared P(HEMA) particles after activation of the particles with cyanuric chloride. The activities of the free and immobilized enzymes were measured with Ethanol-Carbazole method. The immobilization of GI on P(HEMA) p...
Thermoluminescence properties of Al doped ZnO nanoparticles
IŞIK, MEHMET; Hasanlı, Nızamı (Elsevier BV, 2018-08-15)
ZnO nanoparticles doped with aluminum (AZO nanoparticles) were investigated using low temperature thermoluminescence (TL) and structural characterization experiments. TL experiments were performed on AZO nanoparticles in the temperature range of 10-300 K. TL curve presented one intensive peak around 123 K and two overlapped peaks to intensive peak around 85 and 150 K for heating rate of 0.1 K/s. Curve fitting and initial rise methods were used to find the activation energies of associated trapping centers. ...
