Şahin, Türker; Çelik, Birten; Department of History (2012)
The main objective of this thesis is to examine both external and internal dynamics in terms of their preparation for the ways to democratization in Turkey between 1945 and 1950. But in this study, it will be argued that while the external dynamics may stimulate different actors for democratization, survival and consolidation of this democratiza...

The determinants of international competitiveness: the case of Turkish manufacturing sector
Gençay, Mehmet; Erdil, Erkan; Department of Science and Technology Policy Studies (2003)
The aim of this thesis is to identify and to study the micro and macro determinants of export performance. The results of micro determinants suggest that there is no significant relationship between export performance and R&D intensity, which could be a result of underreport of R&D expenditures in income statements of firms and the realization of its effects in the long-term. The results for marketing intensity, ratio of foreign exchange profits in total sales, fixed investment intensity and capital intensi...
The sustainability analysis of Turkish domestic debt
Alkan, Feyza; Öcal, Nadir; Department of Economics (2009)
In this thesis, sustainability of the Turkish domestic debt is analyzed within the “sustainability indicators” perspective. The fiscal targets of Maastricht Treaty (1992) are imposed on the Turkish fiscal policy and it is investigated whether these targets are the indicators for sustainability in the medium term. Uctum and Wickens’ (2000) methodology is followed in assessing the sustainability of the current fiscal policy and the efficiency of the Maastricht Treaty (1992) targets. Moreover, the vector auto ...
