The use of a sigma-point approximation is proposed for the Chernoff fusion of Gaussian mixtures. The superiority of the proposed method to its best alternatives in the literature is shown on both a simple density fusion problem and a distributed multiple target tracking example, where the outputs of Gaussian mixture cardinalized probability hypothesis density filters are fused.

Anisotropic Elastic and Lattice Dynamical Properties of Cr2AB MAX Phases Compounds
Gencer, Ayşenur; Yılmaz, İnanç; Bayhan, Ülkü; Sürücü, Gökhan (2019-03-01)
The structural, mechanical and lattice dynamical properties of the MAX Phase borides compounds Cr2AB (A= Al, P, Si) have been investigated using the first principles calculations with the generalized gradient approximation (GGA) based on Density Functional Theory (DFT). The obtained negative formation energies of Cr2AB indicate that these compounds are stable and could be synthesized. Some basic physical parameters such as lattice constants, elastic constants, bulk modulus, Shear modulus, Young’s modulus, a...
Computational studies on nitratoethylnitramine (NENA), its tautomers and charged forms
Türker, Burhan Lemi; Atalar, Taner (2009-02-15)
An energetic material, nitratoethylnitramine (NENA), its tautomers and also its charged forms are considered quantum chemically, using various basis sets at the levels of ab initio and density functional theories (DFT). NENA has been found to be sensitive to negative charge development, resulting in rupture of O-NO(2) bond. Also conformational and molecular dynamics (MD) studies have been performed on NENA. Various geometrical parameters, energies and infrared spectra have been obtained and discussed. Also,...
General analytic density distribution function for atoms
Erkoç, Şakir (2000-09-01)
A general analytic function is proposed to represent the radial distribution of charge density for atoms. The proposed function fits perfectly to the radial charge density generated numerically by local spin density functional method for atoms from He to Kr.
Quantum mechanical treatment of fullerene-based systems doped with various metal and non-metal elements as prospective spin-qubits
Polad, Serkan; Erkoç, Şakir; Department of Micro and Nanotechnology (2010)
In this thesis, We have calculated the optimized geometries, electronic structures and spin distributions of metal and non-metal elements Li, Na, N and P doped C60 fullerene dimers and trimers with different spin multiplicities using hybrid density functional theory (DFT) at the B3LYP/6-31G level of theory. Natural population analysis and Mulliken population analysis show that non-metal elements (N, P) inside the C60 fullerene dimers and trimers are well isolated and preserve their electronic structures whi...
Dielectric function of the two-dimensional electron liquid: An analytical fitting
Bulutay, C; Tomak, Mehmet (1996-03-15)
For electron-electron interactions in two-dimensional electronic systems the technique proposed by Singwi, Tosi, Land, and Sjolander (STLS) has been very promising. In this work, after showing the asymptotic behavior of the STLS local held correction we propose a simple expression for the local-held correction that contains two fitting parameters which are smoothly varying functions of the electronic density. The agreement of the fitting for the pair correlation function is remarkable. It further leads to a...
