İmaret Kavramı Üzerinden Erken Osmanlı Ters T Planlı Zaviyeleri İle Aşhanelerin İlişkisi: Osmanlı Aşhanelerinin Kökenine Dair Düşünceler

Bu makalede “imaret” terimi ile adlandırılan ve Osmanlı mimarisinin erken dönemlerinden itibaren varlığı bilinen iki mimari yapı türüne değinilmiştir. Bu yapılardan ilki Ters T Planı zaviyelerdir. Diğeri ise öğrenciler, külliye çalışanları, yolcular ve fakirlere ücretsiz yemek dağıtılan aşhanelerdir. Her iki yapı grubu da aynı tarihlerde Osmanlı mimarlık sahnesinde görülmeye başlanmıştır. İlk Osmanlı kroniği Aşıkpaşazade Orhan Gazi’nin İznik’te inşa ettirdiği yapının açılışını anlatmakta ve bu yapıyı imaret olarak adlandırmaktadır. Aşıkpaşazade’nin bu yapıdan bahsederken kullandığı yemek dağıtımına dair ifadeler yapının bir mutfağa sahip olması gerektirdiğini düşündürür. Bu çalışmada bu ilk imaretle kastedilenin hem ters T planlı zaviye hem de aşhane (imaret) olduğu tezi ileri sürülmektedir. Bu ilk aşhanenin planınınnasıl olabileceği sorusu ise ters T planlı yapılarla birlikte inşa edilmiş ve günümüze ulaşmış yapıların planına bakılarak açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. İmaret kavramı ile nitelenen her iki yapı grubu için bu terimin seçilmesinin rastlantısal olmadığı; tarihi anlatımlar, vakfiyeler ve imaret personeli olan şeyhin kelime anlamından hareketle açıklanmıştır. Ters T planlı zaviyelerin ve aşhanelerin inşasına zemin hazırlayan etmenler üzerinde de durulmuştur.
