A new species of Lathys from Turkey (Araneae, Dictynidae)
Özkütük, Recep Sulhi; Marusik, Yuri M.; Elverici, Mert; Kunt, Kadir Boğaç (Pensoft Publishers, 2016-11-16)
A new species, Lathys ankaraensis sp. n., is described based on the material collected in the Central Anatolia. The new species belongs to the humilis-group. Habitus, as well as copulatory organs of both sexes, are described and illustrated by means of line drawings and digital and SEM photographs. A new species of Acantholimon Boiss. sect. Glumaria Boiss. (Plumbaginaceae) from Elazig, Turkey
Dogan, M; Akaydin, G (Oxford University Press (OUP), 2005-11-01)
A new species, Acantholimon evrenii sp. nov. is described and illustrated for the first time in sect. Glumaria from Turkey. The species is confined to B7 Elazig in East Anatolia where it grows on rocky mountain steppes. The diagnostic morphological characters from closely related species are given, along with a discussion dealing with its taxonomic relationship. Its conservation status is indicated. A revised key is also provided for the Acantholimon species with heterophyllous leaves, two or more flowered ...
Two New Species of Harpactea (Araneae, Dysderidae) from Turkey
Kunt, Kadir; Elverici, Mert; Özkütük, Recep; Yagmur, Ersen (Pensoft Publishers, 2011-11-4)
Two new species, Harpactea arnedoi sp. n. and H. kencei sp. n., are described on the basis of both sexes from the eastern Mediterranean and Aegean regions of Turkey. H. kencei sp. n. can be easily distinguished from all other Turkish and European representatives of the genus by the structure of the flattened, massive embolus on the male copulatory organ. Although resembling Stalagtia in palpal morphology, we describe one of the new species as Harpactea arnedoi sp. n. For both Turkish species, detailed morph...
Investigation of the effects of folk medicinal plant Epilobium Hirsutum L. on cytochrome P450 dependent and antioxidant enzymes : a molecular approach
Karakurt, Serdar; Adalı, Orhan; Şen, Alaattin; Department of Biochemistry (2013)
The genus Epilobium sp. (Onagraceae) is widely distributed all over the world and consists of nearly 200 species. Epilobium hirsutum L. (EH) one of the members of this genus is known as its analgesic, anti-microbial and anti-proliferative activity and it is used in our country as an alternative medicine. The pharmacological effect of EH could be explained by the presence of polyphenolics including steroids, tannins and flavonoids in the aerial parts. Cytochrome P450s (CYPs) known as phase I enzymes have imp...
A new species of Acantholimon Boiss. (Plumbaginaceae) from the western Taurus Mountains, Turkey
Akaydin, G; Doğan, Musa (2002-01-01)
A new species, Acantholimon karamanicum Akaychn & Dogan (Plumbaginaceae) is described and illustrated. The species grows on calcareous Mountain slopes in open Quercus sp. scrub, Astragalus sp. steppe, and inside Abies cilicica forest in Ermenek (Karaman). Diagnostic morphological characteristics from closely related species are discussed and conservation statuses of the species are given. A revised key to the Acantholimon species, with densely distichous spikes and outer bracts twice as long as the internod...
