DFT Studies on eta(6)-Coronene-Cr(CO)(3) Complexes
Türker, Burhan Lemi; Guemues, Selcuk (2009-01-01)
Two types of Cr(CO)(3) complexes of coronene have been considered theoretically at the level of DFT (B3LYP/6-31G(d)), in order to investigate some molecular orbital, electronic and thermodynamic properties. The effect of complexation on the stability and aromaticity of coronene has been investigated by NICS calculations. According to the results, both in the gas phase and in aqueous solution, B-type complex has been found to be more stable than the A-type, however, the energy difference is such that B to A ...
DFT studies and vibrational spectra of trans 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene and its zinc(II)halide complexes
Ozhamam, Z; Yurdakul, Murat Hayrettin; Yurdakul, S (2006-03-17)
The geometry, frequency and intensity of the vibrational bands of trans 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene (which is abbreviated as bpe) were obtained using the density functional theory (DFT) with the BLYP, B3LYP, B3PW91 functionals and 6-311G* basis set.
DFT study for the mechanical and electronic properties of Mg3BHx (x=l,4,7) compounds for hydrogen storage applications
Gencer, A.; Sürücü, Gökhan (2019-11-25)
© 2019 Author(s).The electronic devices such as cell phones, laptops etc. are a necessary part of our daily life that requires portable power sources. Hydrogen being the most abundant element on the Earth, is an excellent energy carrier with high energy capacity that enable to use hydrogen storage methods in portable power sources. In addition, hydrogen storage could be essential to store the energy obtained from the renewable energy sources. The solid state hydrogen storage is an encouraging method for hyd...

DFT study of Rb/Si(100)-2 x 1 system
Mete, E; Shaltaf, R; Ellialtıoğlu, Süleyman Şinasi (Elsevier BV, 2005-06-01)
We have investigated Rb adsorption on the Si(100) surface for 0.5 and 1 monolayer coverages using the total energy method with norm-conserving pseudopotentials. For 2 x 1 reconstruction at 1 ML coverage symmetrized dimers are found to be energetically more favorable. On the other hand, half a ML coverage is found to have symmetrical dimers only for the most stable adsorption model. All possible surface-adatom configurations have been considered in the calculations to find which adsorption sites are energeti...
