Effects of microwave frying and different flour types addition on the microstructure of batter coatings
Barutcu, Isil; Şahin, Serpil; Şümnü, Servet Gülüm (2009-12-01)
In this study, the influences of microwave frying and various flour types on microstructure of batter coatings were investigated. Control batter formulation contained only wheat and corn flour. To determine the effects of different flour types, 30% of the corn and wheat flour mix was replaced with chickpea, rice or soy flours. Frying was performed in microwave oven at 365 W (70%) power level for 1.5 min after bringing the oil temperature to 180 +/- 1 degrees C. Samples were also fried in a conventional frye...
Synthesis and investigation of optical properties of Ce3+, Dy3+, Eu3+ single doped, Ce3+/ Dy3+ codoped, Ce3+/Dy3+/ Eu3+ triple doped and Yb3+ single doped, Ce3+/Tb3+/ Yb3+ triple doped GDBO3
Taneroğlu, Oğuzcan; Yılmaz, Ayşen; Esentürk, Okan; Department of Chemistry (2020-10-23)
The effect of triple doping in photoluminescence has been investigated in recent years, and it could utilize the compounds in terms of some demands. The photoluminescence activity of the materials can be used for quantum cutting solar cells, white light-emitting diodes, flat display panels, optical thermometer, or for the purpose of biosensor, etc. Single doped Ce3+, Dy3+, Eu3+, Yb3+ doped, and Ce3+/Dy3+ codoped, Dy3+/Ce3+/Eu3+ and Tb3+/Ce3+/Yb3+ triple doped GdBO3 nanocompounds were synthesized by sol-gel ...
DESIGN, ANALYSIS AND IMPLEMENTATION OF QUARTER-WAVE ABSORBER STRUCTURE FOR UNCOOLED INFRARED DETECTORS WITH HIGH FILL FACTOR
Cetin, Ramazan; Erturk, Ozan; Akın, Tayfun (2018-09-14)
This study presents design, analysis, optimization, and fabrication of umbrella structures as an efficient quarter wave absorber within the Long Wave Infrared (LWIR) range for uncooled IR detectors. Both the effect of the ni-chrome (NiCr) layer and effect of varying pixel pitch sizes on the IR absorption performance of the umbrella structures are examined. An average of 96% absorption is measured for the optimized case within the LWIR range.

Fast Screening of Protein-Protein Interactions Using Forster Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET-) Based Fluorescence Plate Reader Assay in Live Cells
Durhan, Seyda Tugce; Sezer, Enise Nalli; Son, Çağdaş Devrim; Küçük Baloğlu, Fatma (2022-11-01)
Protein-protein interactions (PPIs) have great importance for intracellular signal transduction and sustaining the homeostasis of an organism. Thus, the identification of PPIs is necessary to better understand the downstream signaling functions of the proteins in healthy and pathological conditions. Forster resonance energy transfer (FRET) between fluorescent proteins (FPs) is a powerful tool for detecting PPIs in living cells. In literature, FRET analysis methods such as donor photobleaching (FLIM), accept...
