Rarefaction Effects on the Outflow Boundary Conditions for External Subsonic Flows
Çelenligil, Mehmet Cevdet (2008-07-25)
In continuum-flow simulations, subsonic outflow boundary conditions are controlled solely by the Mach number. Such boundary conditions are not suitable for rarefied flows, and it is necessary to include the Knudsen number into them. In the present study, this is done for external flows, by introducing a simple model which adjusts the macroscopic boundary properties (from which the incoming molecules are calculated) according to the local rarefaction. A bridging formula is used between the continuum and free...
Rare z decays and noncommutative theories
Yüce, Cem; Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Department of Physics (2004)
Leptonic decay modes of Z-boson constitute one of the important class of the decays for checking predictions and improving parameters of the standard model. In next generation of the accelerators, it will be produced more than 10̂8 Z-boson pear year. Therefore, It appears real possibility to analyze the rare decays of Z, which are absent at tree level in standard model. Moreover, the rare decays are quite sensitive to the existence of new physics beyond the standard model. One of the possible source for the...
Rare B -> l(+)l(-)gamma decay and new physics effects
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Özpineci, Altuğ; Savcı, Mustafa (2001-11-08)
Using the most general, model independent form of the effective Hamiltonian rare decays B --> l(+)l(-)gamma (l = mu, tau) are studied. The sensitivity of the photon energy distribution and branching ratio to the new Wilson coefficients is investigated.
Near-surface topology and flow structure on a delta wing
Yavuz, Mehmet Metin; Rockwell, D (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), 2004-02-01)
The streamlines, and the corresponding patterns of velocity and vorticity, are characterized on a plane immediately adjacent to the surface of a delta wing using a laser-based technique of high-image-density particle image velocimetry. This technique provides the sequence of instantaneous states, as well as the corresponding time-averaged state, of the near-surface streamline topology and the associated critical points. These topological features are interpreted in terms of patterns of averaged and unsteady...
Rare B->K*l(+)l(-) decay, two Higgs doublet model, and light cone QCD sum rules
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa; Özpineci, Altuğ (1997-10-02)
The decay width, forward-backward asymmetry and lepton longitudinal and transversal polarization for the exclusive B --> K* l(+)l(-) decay in a two Higgs doublet model are computed. It is shown that all these quantities are very effective tools for establishing new physics. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
