An SGML based viewer for form documents

1999-01-01
© 1999 IEEE.Proposes a viewer for visual reconstruction and retrieval of form documents. The structure of the form document and the filled-in data are stored in an SGML (Standard Generalised Markup Language) instance. A DSSSL (Document Style Semantics and Specification Language) instance holds style properties of the data. Filled-in data is kept in a relational database. The viewer uses SGML and DSSSL instances as input and visually reconstructs a form document image by retrieving the corresponding filled-in data from the database.

A character recognizer for Turkish language
Korkmaz, SU; Akinci, GKY; Atalay, Mehmet Volkan (2003-01-01)
This paper presents particularly a contextual post processing subsystem for a Turkish machine printed character recognition system. The contextual post processing subsystem is based on positional binary 3-gram statistics for Turkish language, an error corrector parser and a lexicon, which contains root words and the inflected forms of the root words. Error corrector parser is used for correcting CR alternatives using Turkish Morphology.
A hierarchical representation of form documents for identification and retrieval
Duygulu, P; Atalay, Mehmet Volkan (2000-01-27)
In this paper, we present a logical representation for form documents to be used for identification and retrieval. A hierarchical structure is proposed to represent the logical structure of a form by using lines. The approach is top-down and no domain knowledge such as the preprinted data or filled-in data is used. Logically same forms are associated to the same hierarchical structure. This representation can handle geometrical modifications and slight variations.
A High Throughput Lab-On-A-Chip System for Label Free Quantification of Breast Cancer Cells under Continuous Flow
ASLAN, MUSTAFA YASİN; Yalçın, Yasemin; Ozgur, E.; Gündüz, Ufuk; Eminoglu, S.; Külah, Haluk; Akın, Tayfun (Elsevier BV; 2016-05-27)
This paper presents an LOC system combining microfluidic DEP channel with a CMOS image sensor for label and lens free detection and real-time counting of MCF-7 cells under continuous flow. Trapped and then released MCF-7 cells are accurately detected and counted under flow with a CMOS image sensor integrated underneath the DEP channel, for the first time in the literature. CMOS image sensor can capture 391 frames per second (fps) that allows detection of the released cells flowing through the channel with a...
A Shadow based trainable method for building detection in satellite images
Dikmen, Mehmet; Halıcı, Uğur; Department of Geodetic and Geographical Information Technologies (2014)
The purpose of this thesis is to develop a supervised building detection and extraction algorithm with a shadow based learning method for high-resolution satellite images. First, shadow segments are identified on an over-segmented image, and then neighboring shadow segments are merged by assuming that they are cast by a single building. Next, these shadow regions are used to detect the candidate regions where buildings most likely occur. Together with this information, distance to shadows towards illuminati...
AN EFFICIENT HOLE FILLING FOR DEPTH IMAGE BASED RENDERING
Cigla, Cevahir; Alatan, Abdullah Aydın (2013-07-19)
An efficient hole filling algorithm is presented providing texture compilation for invisible pixels during depth image based rendering (DIBR). Some pixels cannot be assigned to proper texture values due to occluding foreground object; thus, compilation is required to obtain visually pleasing virtual views from a set of reference views. The proposed algorithm exploits reliable texture transition from visible pixels to the holes among horizontal and vertical directions. Transition is performed by successive w...
