Simulation of the Inelastic Behavior of Steel Braces Under Seismic Load Reversals
Dicleli, Murat (null; 2012-09-24)
Simulation of inelastic cyclic buckling behavior of steel box sections
Dicleli, Murat (Elsevier BV, 2007-4)
In this study, a nonlinear structural model is developed to simulate the cyclic axial force-deformation behavior of steel braces including their buckling behavior using the commercially available nonlinear finite element based software ADINA. The nonlinear cyclic axial force-deformation simulation is done for braces with box sections. However, the structural model and simulation techniques described in this study may be applicable to braces with various section types using other commercially available struc...
Simulation of the Casimir-Polder effect for various geometries
Tasci, ES; Erkoç, Şakir (2002-09-01)
We have investigated the Casimir-Polder effect for various geometries such as concentric spherical shells, a spherical shell within a cubic shell and spherical shell within a pyramidal shell. Simulations have been performed by static calculations. Simulation results agreed with theoretical predictions.
SIMULATION OF ELECTRON-DIFFRACTION PATTERNS OF ALLOYS WITH ORIENTED PRECIPITATES
AKBAY, T; Aydınol, Mehmet Kadri; BOR, AS (1994-06-01)
A computer program has been developed to simulate the complicated electron diffraction patterns of alloys consisting of an underlying matrix phase in which are embedded various crystallographically oriented precipitates. These precipitates consist of different variants each with a specific orientation relationship to the underlying matrix. The program is designed to calculate the number of possible variants and the specific orientation of each variant using a general orientation relationship input by the us...
Simulation of low cycle fatigue performance of steel H piles via finite element approach
Karalar, Memduh; Dicleli, Murat (2016-06-30)
Integral bridges are jointless bridges where the superstructure is connected monolithically with the abutments. Due to seasonal temperature changes the abutments are pushed against the approach fill and then pulled away, causing lateral displacements at the top of the piles that support the abutments as shown in Fig. 1. This may result in the reduction of their service life due to low-cycle fatigue effects. Although bridge engineers (Dicleli, 2000, French et al. 2004) have already predicted that low cycle f...
