We discuss the e(+)e(-)-->(hA)--> cross section in an Abelian extended supersymmetric SM. We work in that minimum of the scalar potential for which Higgs trilinear coupling is greater than the soft mass parameters. We find that next-to-lightest Higgs gives the essential contribution to the cross section in the small Z - Z' mixing angle and leptophobic Z' limit. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.

Exact Solutions of Effective Mass Dirac Equation with Non-PT-Symmetric and Non-Hermitian Exponential-type Potentials
Arda, Altug; Sever, Ramazan (2009-09-01)
By using a two-component approach to the one-dimensional effective mass Dirac equation, bound states are investigated under the effect of two new non-PT-symmetric and non-Hermitian exponential type potentials. It is observed that the Dirac equation can be mapped into a Schrodinger-like equation by rescaling one of the two Dirac wave functions in the case of the position-dependent mass. The energy levels and the corresponding Dirac eigenfunctions are found analytically.
Design, fabrication and characterization of novel metamaterials in microwave and terahertz regions : multi-band, frequency-tunable and miniaturized structures
Ekmekçi, Evren; Sayan, Gönül; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2010)
This dissertation is focused on the design, fabrication, and characterization of novel metamaterials in microwave and terahertz regions with the following outcomes: A planar µ-negative metamaterial structure, called double-sided SRR (DSRR), is proposed in the first part of this study. DSRR combines the features of a conventional split ring resonator (SRR) and a broadside-coupled SRR (BC-SRR) to obtain much better miniaturization at microwave frequencies for a given physical cell size. In addition to DSRR, d...
Observing Higgs in weak boson fusion with forward jet tagging at the CERN CMS experiment
Yıldız, Hatice Duran; Zeyrek, Mehmet Tevfik; Department of Physics (2002)
The experimental observation of Higgs boson will be fundamental for a better understanding of the electroweak symmetry breaking mechanism. In this thesis the Standard Model Higgs boson decaying to a WW or ZZ pair in the weak boson fusion channel is studied for the LHC CMS experiment at CERN. This study utilizes the PYTHIA Monte Carlo event generator and the CMS detector simulation (CMS JET). Throughout this work, the observability of Higgs signal in the wide mass range is explored through WW -> lujj, ZZ ->?...
Higgs mass, superconnections, and the TeV-scale left-right symmetric model
Aydemir, Ufuk; Minic, Djordje; Sun, Chen; Takeuchi, Tatsu (2015-02-01)
We discuss the physical implications of formulating the Standard Model (SM) in terms of the superconnection formalism involving the superalgebra su(2/1). In particular, we discuss the prediction of the Higgs mass according to the formalism and point out that it is similar to 170 GeV, in clear disagreement with experiment. To remedy this problem, we extend the formalism to the superalgebra su(2/2), which extends the SM to the left-right symmetric model (LRSM) and accommodates a similar to 126 GeV Higgs boson...
Study of high mass Higgs using pp -> qqH
Yildiz, HD; Zeyrek, Mehmet Tevfik (2003-08-01)
The observability of the Higgs signal in the mass range of 200-800 GeV is investigated in the weak boson fusion channel at the CMS experiment at LHC. The weak boson fusion channel is characterized by two final state jets at large pseudorapidity. The forward calorimeter plays a key role in detecting these jets. The significant signals are obtained for H --> WW --> lvjj, H --> ZZ --> lljj and H --> ZZ --> llvv. Importance of the forward jet tagging and the central jet veto is emphasized to extract the signal ...
