Polarization characteristics of gamma-quanta, produced in decays B --> K* + gamma and B --> K + pi + gamma are studied in a general parity non-conserving framework. Polarization characteristics of gamma quanta for perturbative (i.e. shea distance) part of the matrix element of these decays are shown to be universal, independent of the process. Nonperturbative effects however violate such universality. (C) 1997 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.

General analysis of polarization phenomena in inclusive and semi-inclusive radiative decays of B mesons
Pak, Namık Kemal; Rekalo, MP; Yilmaz, T (IOP Publishing, 2000-07-01)
Polarization characteristics of photons produced in inclusive and semi-inclusive radiative decays of B mesons, B --> gamma + X-s, B --> gamma + h + X', are described in a general model-independent framework, using the structure function formalism.
Nondipolar effects in the photoionization dynamics of carbon tetrafluoride
Toffolı, Danıele; Decleva, Piero (American Physical Society (APS), 2008-12-01)
The linear combination of atomic orbitals approach to the calculation of the molecular continuum spectrum with B-spline basis functions has been applied to the calculation of the first-order nondipolar corrections to the photoelectron angular distributions from carbon tetrafluoride. Dipolar and nondipolar asymmetry parameter profiles have been calculated for every single-particle orbital ionization. A comparison with the available experimental data gives good agreement for the dipolar asymmetry parameter. N...
Radiative decays of negative parity heavy baryons in the framework of the light cone QCD sum rules
Agamaliev, A.K.; Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (Elsevier BV, 2017-2)
The transition form factors responsible for the radiative Sigma(Q) -> Lambda(Q)gamma and Xi(')(Q) -> Xi(Q)gamma So decays of the negative parity baryons are examined within light cone QCD sum rules. The decay widths of the radiative transitions are calculated using the obtained results of the form factors. A comparison of our predictions on decay widths with the corresponding widths of positive parity baryons is given.
Excitonic effects on the nonlinear optical properties of small quantum dots
KARABULUT, İBRAHİM; Safak, H.; Tomak, Mehmet (IOP Publishing, 2008-08-07)
The excitonic effects on the nonlinear optical properties of small quantum dots with a semiparabolic confining potential are studied under the density matrix formalism. First, within the framework of the strong confinement approximation, we present the excitonic states and then calculate the excitonic effects on the nonlinear optical properties, such as second harmonic generation, third harmonic generation, nonlinear absorption coefficient and refractive index changes. We find the explicit analytical expres...
Strong Coupling Constants of Negative Parity Heavy Baryons with pi and K Mesons
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Bilmiş, Selçuk; Savcı, Mustafa (2017-01-01)
The strong coupling constants of negative parity heavy baryons belonging to sextet and antitriplet representations of SUf(3) with light pi and K mesons are estimated within the light cone QCD sum rules. It is observed that each class of the sextet-sextet, sextet-antitriplet, and antitriplet-antitriplet transitions can be described by only one corresponding function. The pollution arising from the positive to positive, positive to negative, and negative to positive parity baryons transitions is eliminated by...
