Energy levels of neutral atoms have been reexamined by applying an alternative perturbative scheme in solving the Schrodinger equation for the Yukawa potential model with a modified screening parameter. The predicted shell binding energies axe found to be quite accurate over the entire range of the atomic number Z up to 84 and compare very well with those obtained within the framework of hypervirial-Pade scheme and the method of shifted large-N expansion. It is observed that the new perturbative method may also be applied to the other areas of atomic physics.

APPROXIMATE l-STATE SOLUTIONS TO THE KLEIN-GORDON EQUATION FOR MODIFIED WOODS-SAXON POTENTIAL WITH POSITION DEPENDENT MASS
Arda, Altug; Sever, Ramazan (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2009-08-20)
The radial part of the Klein-Gordon equation for the generalized Woods-Saxon potential is solved by using the Nikiforov-Uvarov method with spatially dependent mass within the new approximation scheme to the centrifugal potential term. The energy eigenvalues and corresponding normalized eigenfunctions are computed. The solutions in the case of constant mass are also obtained to check out the consistency of our new approximation scheme.
THE SCALAR UNPARTICLE EFFECT ON THE CHARGED LEPTON ELECTRIC DIPOLE MOMENT
Iltan, E. O. (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2009-06-10)
We study the charged lepton electric dipole moment which is induced by the scalar unparticle mediation and we predict the appropriate range for the free parameters appearing in the effective Lagrangian which drives the unparticle-standard model lepton interactions. We observe that the charged lepton electric dipole moment is strongly sensitive to the scaling dimension d(u) of the unparticle and the new couplings in the effective interaction. Furthermore, we see that the current experimental limits of charge...
The exclusive (B)over-bar ->pi e(+)e(-) and (B)over-bar ->rho e(+)e(-) decays in the two Higgs doublet model with flavor changing neutral currents
Iltan, EO (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 1999-10-30)
We present the leading logarithmic QCD corrections to the matrix element of the decay b --> de(+)e(-) in the two Higgs doublet model with tree level flavor changing currents (model III). We continue studying the differential branching ratio and the CP-violating asymmetry for the exclusive decays B --> pi e(+)e(-) and B --> pe(+)e(-) and analysing the dependencies of these quantities on the selected model III parameters, xi(U,D), including the leading logarithmic QCD corrections. Further, we present the forw...
AN EMPIRICAL MANY-BODY POTENTIAL-ENERGY FUNCTION CONSTRUCTED FROM PAIR-INTERACTIONS
Erkoç, Şakir (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1994-12-01)
A new empirical potential energy function (PEF) is proposed, which is formed from pair-interactions only, and contains the many-body contributions; The PEF satisfies bulk cohesive energy and bulk stability condition. The PEF is parameterized for copper, silver, and gold elements in fee crystal structure. The elastic constants C-11 and C-12 and the bulk modulus of the elements are calculated, and the structural stability and energetics of microclusters containing 3 to 7 atoms of the same elements are investi...
The effect of antisymmetric tensor unparticle mediation on the charged lepton electric dipole moment
Iltan, E. O. (IOP Publishing, 2011-10-01)
We study the contribution of antisymmetric tensor unparticle mediation to the charged lepton electric dipole moments and restrict the free parameters of the model by using the experimental upper bounds. We observe that the charged lepton electric dipole moments are strongly sensitive to the scaling dimension d(U) and the fundamental scales M(U) and Delta(U). The experimental current limits of electric dipole moments are reached for the small values of the scaling dimension d(U).
