For an Abelian extended supergravity model, we investigate some important low-energy parameters: tan beta, the Z-Z' mixing angle, lightest CP-even Higgs mass bound, Z' mass, and effective mu parameter. By integrating the renormalization group equations from the string scale down to the weak scale we constuct the scalar potential and analyze the quantities above at the tree- and one-loop levels by including the contributions of top squarks and top quark in the effective potential.

New energy definition for higher-curvature gravities
Deser, S.; Tekin, Bayram (2007-04-01)
We propose a novel but natural definition of conserved quantities for gravity models of quadratic and higher order in curvature. Based on the spatial asymptotics of curvature rather than of metric, it avoids the more egregious problems-such as zero-energy '' theorems '' and failure in flat backgrounds-in this fourth-derivative realm. In D > 4, the present expression indeed correctly discriminates between second-derivative Gauss-Bonnet and generic, fourth-derivative actions.
The aniıhilation cross section of the dark matter which ıs driven by scalar unparticle
Iltan, E. O. (2013-08-01)
We analyze the annihilation cross section of the Dark Matter which interacts with the Standard Model sector over the scalar unparticle propagator. We observe that the annihilation cross section of the dark matter pair is sensitive to the dark matter mass and the scaling dimension of scalar unparticle. We estimate a range for the dark matter mass and the scaling dimension of scalar unparticle by using the current dark matter abundance.
Approximate Analytical Solutions of Dirac Equation with Spin and Pseudo Spin Symmetries for the Diatomic Molecular Potentials Plus a Tensor Term with Any Angular Momentum
Akçay, Hüseyin; Sever, Ramazan (2013-11-01)
Approximate analytical solutions of the Dirac equation are obtained for some diatomic molecular potentials plus a tensor interaction with spin and pseudospin symmetries with any angular momentum. We find the energy eigenvalue equations in the closed form and the spinor wave functions by using an algebraic method. We also perform numerical calculations for the Poschl-Teller potential to show the effect of the tensor interaction. Our results are consistent with ones obtained before.
Observing Higgs in weak boson fusion with forward jet tagging at the CERN CMS experiment
Yıldız, Hatice Duran; Zeyrek, Mehmet Tevfik; Department of Physics (2002)
The experimental observation of Higgs boson will be fundamental for a better understanding of the electroweak symmetry breaking mechanism. In this thesis the Standard Model Higgs boson decaying to a WW or ZZ pair in the weak boson fusion channel is studied for the LHC CMS experiment at CERN. This study utilizes the PYTHIA Monte Carlo event generator and the CMS detector simulation (CMS JET). Throughout this work, the observability of Higgs signal in the wide mass range is explored through WW -> lujj, ZZ ->?...
B SG decay in the framework of multi Higgs doublet models including QCD corrections
Solmaz, Levent; İltan, Erhan Onur; Department of Physics (2002)
We study the decay width T and CP asymmetry Acp of the inclusive process b - > sg in model III version of the two Higgs doublet model and the three Higgs doublet model with tree level flavor changing neutral currents, including QCD corrections. We analyzed the energy and sin0 dependencies of T and Acp, respecting the existing constrains coming from the experiments in the model III and 3HDM(02). We observe that there exists a considerable enhancement in the decay width and CP asymmetry of the b -> sg process...
