ebXML is a standard from OASIS and UN/CEFACT which specifies an infrastructure to facilitate electronic business. In this paper, we address how ebXML registry semantics support can be further enhanced to make it OWL aware. OWL constructs are represented through ebXML registry information model constructs, and stored procedures are defined in the ebXML registry for processing the OWL semantics. These predefined stored queries provide the necessary means to exploit the enhanced semantics stored in the registry. In this way, an application program does not have to be aware of the details of how this semantics support is achieved in ebXML registry, and does not have to contain additional code to process this semantics.

Semantics based customization of UBL document schemas
Yarimagan, Yalin; Doğaç, Asuman (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2007-12-01)
Universal Business Language (UBL) is an OASIS initiative to develop common business document schemas to provide document interoperability in the eBusiness domain. Since the data requirements change according to a context, UBL schemas need to be customized and UBL defines a guideline to be followed for customization of schemas. XSD derivation based customization as proposed by UBL provides syntactic interoperability, that is, an XML parser that can interpret standard UBL documents can also interpret customiz...
Provision of market services for eCo compliant electronic marketplaces
Arpinar, S; Doğaç, Asuman (Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), 2000-09-01)
The progress and wider dissemination of electronic commerce will be facilitated through interoperability infrastructures. Commerce Net's eCo framework is a promising effort in this direction. In the eCo framework, businesses participate in a marketplace through standard interfaces for their services and by exchanging standardized documents. This framework does not specify any further interfaces for the services a marketplace itself may offer.
An exact and a heuristic approach for the transportation-p-facility location problem
Das, Soumen Kumar; Roy, Sankar Kumar; Weber, Gerhard Wilhelm (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2020-01-30)
The delineation of the transportation network is a strategic issue for all over the place. The problem of locating new facilities among several existing facilities and minimizing the total transportation cost are the main topics of the location network system. This paper addresses the transportation-p-facility location problem (T-p-FLP) which makes a connection between the facility location problem and the transportation problem, where p corresponds to the number of facilities. The T-p-FLP is a generalizati...
Efficiency and effectiveness of query processing in cluster-based retrieval
Can, F; Altıngövde, İsmail Sengör; Demir, E (Elsevier BV, 2004-12-01)
Our research shows that for large databases, without considerable additional storage overhead, cluster-based retrieval (CBR) can compete with the time efficiency and effectiveness of the inverted index-based full search (FS). The proposed CBR method employs a storage structure that blends the cluster membership information into the inverted file posting lists. This approach significantly reduces the cost of similarity calculations for document ranking during query processing and improves efficiency. For exa...
Performing and analyzing non-formal inspections of entity relationship diagram (ERD)
ÇAĞILTAY, NERGİZ; TOKDEMİR, GÜL; Kilic, Ozkan; Topalli, Damla (Elsevier BV, 2013-08-01)
Designing and understanding of diagrammatic representations is a critical issue for the success of software projects because diagrams in this field provide a collection of related information with various perceptual signs and they help software engineers to understand operational systems at different levels of information system development process. Entity relationship diagram (ERD) is one of the main diagrammatic representations of a conceptual data model that reflects users' data requirements in a databas...
