The ability to estimate the location of objects accurately is one of the main objectives of localization techniques in the Internet of Things (IoT) in order to enable the massive exchange of information among things. This paper presents a survey of existing localization techniques and evaluates existing categories in IoT. Relevant state of the art articles has been reviewed and assessed accordingly. Applications of localization techniques, evaluation metrics, constraints and open research issues have been investigated in order to enrich the discussion. In short, this survey will assist researchers and professionals working in area of localization to cope with the different related aspects of the emerging IoT paradigm.

SWARM-based data delivery framework in the Ad Hoc Internet of Things
Hasan, Mohammed Zaki; Al-Turjman, Fadi (2017-12-08)
Internet of Things (IoTs) refers to the rapidly growing network of connected objects that are able to collect and exchange data using embedded sensors. To guarantee the connectivity among these objects and devices, fault tolerant routing has been received a significant attention in recent years. In this paper, we propose a bio-inspired particle multi-swarm optimization (PMSO) routing algorithm to construct, recover and select k-disjoint paths that tolerates the failure while satisfying quality of service (Q...
Optimizing Multipath Routing With Guaranteed Fault Tolerance in Internet of Things
Hasan, Mohammed Zaki; Al-Turjman, Fadi (2017-10-01)
Internet of Things (IoTs) refers to the rapidly growing network of connected objects and people that are able to collect and exchange data using embedded sensors. To guarantee the connectivity among these objects and people, fault tolerance routing has to be significantly considered. In this paper, we propose a bio-inspired particle multi-swarm optimization (PMSO) routing algorithm to construct, recover, and select k-disjoint paths that tolerates the failure while satisfying the quality of service parameter...
Price-based data delivery framework for dynamic and pervasive IoT
Al-Turjman, Fadi (2017-12-01)
Recent ongoing research efforts are taking advantage of the emerging technologies which realize the Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm. However, the realization of an IoT framework is still facing many challenges in terms of QoS, resource management and pricing, in addition to the most pressing challenge which is attributed to the integration of the heterogeneous nodes and devices that compete to efficiently route their data. Routing data and inter-nodal communication in IoT has not been yet well investigate...
Wireless Communication Aspects in the Internet of Things: An Overview
ULUŞAR, ÜMİT DENİZ; Celik, Gurkan; Al-Turjman, Fadi (2017-10-12)
Recent advances in technology propelled the development of resource constrained tiny devices and the concept of Internet of Things (IoT). Potential applications spanning various fields of science from environmental to medical have been emerged. Different architectures, routing protocols, performance issues and goals have been suggested. In this work, we review fundamental concepts, recent developments and critical design factors under IoT-specific constraints and objectives such as energy efficiency and env...
Adoption of Internet of Things in Healthcare Organizations
Özkan Yıldırım, Sevgi (2018-01-01)
The Internet of things (IoT) is a paradigm that integrates different types of devices which can operate in any environment with their sensing, communicating, and processing capability. This domain has been a revolutionary changing of healthcare operations by providing a new architecture for devices and applications through IP-based connection capability. Furthermore, IoT is a generic platform to exchange information between mobile health devices and other ubiquitous technologies. Although there have been se...
