The advantages of focusing in parametric sources

1999-09-04
Ozyar, MS
The generation of a low frequency wave in fluids is possible as a consequence of parametric radiation provided that the two primary frequencies are set close to each other. In this theoretical study, the radiation patterns of primary waves versus the radiation axis were plotted. Similarly, the results for the case of focusing were presented. In each case, distributions of the difference-frequency (low-frequency) waves were investigated. Simple analytic formulations of Novikov et al. [1] for the case of a Gaussian amplitude shaded source are adopted. The source dimensions and frequency ranges were selected to be proper for practical therapeutic applications. Finally, it was attempted to present an "efficiency" measure for the parametric focusing sources in biomedical studies.

THE HARMONIC RESPONSE OF UNIFORM BEAMS ON MULTIPLE LINEAR SUPPORTS - A FLEXURAL WAVE ANALYSIS
MEAD, DJ; Yaman, Yavuz (Elsevier BV, 1990-09-22)
A wave approach is developed for the exact analysis of the harmonic response of uniform finite beams on multiple supports. The beam may be excited by single or multi-point harmonic forces or moments; its supports may have general linear characteristics which may include displacement-rotation coupling. Use is made of the harmonic response function for an infinite beam subjected to a single-point harmonic force or moment. The unknowns of the finite beam problem are the support reaction forces/moments and the ...
K pulse estimation and target identification of low q radar targets
Sayan, Gönül (1989-09-01)
An approximate K-pulse waveform is synthesized for a perfectly conducting sphere using a theoretically-generated back-scattered impulse response of the target. The complex natural resonance (CNR) frequencies of the sphere are extracted as zeros of the K-pulse spectrum. The synthesized K-pulse is an aspect and polarization independent descriptor of the sphere, and use of this property in radar target identification is demonstrated for several examples. This study is pertinent because of the need to understan...
THE RESIDUAL VARIABLE METHOD APPLIED TO ACOUSTIC-WAVE PROPAGATION FROM A SPHERICAL SURFACE
AKKAS, N; ERDOGAN, F (ASME International, 1993-01-01)
The classical wave equation in spherical coordinates is expressed in terms of a residual potential applying the Residual Variable Method. This method essentially eliminates the second derivative of the potential with respect to the radial coordinate from the wave equation. Thus, the dynamic pressure distribution on the surface of a spherical cavity can be studied by considering the cavity surface only. Moreover, the Residual Variable Method, being amenable to ''marching'' solutions in a finite-difference im...
Analysis of the standard deviation of surface potential fluctuations in MOS interface from DLTS spectra
Ozder, S; Atilgan, I; Katircioglu, B (IOP Publishing, 1998-05-01)
The surface potential fluctuations can have significant effects on both the magnitude and shape of the measured small-pulse DLTS spectrum. An increase in the dispersion parameter sigma(S) of the surface potential distribution, which is assumed to have a Gaussian form, leads to a reduction in the DLTS signal size, a shift of the peak position and a broadening of the peak shape. A computer program including the exponential temperature dependence of hole capture cross section, sigma(P) = sigma(0) exp(-Delta E-...
The Important Role of N(2)(CH3)(4) Ion in the Phase-Transition Mechanism of [N(CH3)(4)](2)ZnBr4
Kiraci, Ali (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2020-05-01)
The chemical shift of the N(2)(CH3)(4) ion, which has been found to exhibit the similar anomalous behavior of the monoclinic angle $\Delta \beta $ , was related to the order parameter to evaluate the temperature dependence of the linewidth (damping constant) for N-14 nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum of this crystal in terms of the dynamic Ising models, namely the pseudospin-phonon-coupled (PS) and the energy fluctuation (EF) models. The results from both PS and EF models were successful to explain the ab...
