Linearization in satellite attitude control with modified Rodriguez parameters
Doruk, R. Özgür (2009-01-01)
Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to analyze the results of the Jacobian matrix linearization of the satellite attitude dynamics with modified Rodriguez parameters (MRP) as attitude representation.
First LEO Satellite Built in Turkey: RASAT
YÜKSEL, GÖKHAN; OKAN, ALTUĞ; Leloğlu, Uğur Murat (2007-06-16)
BiLSAT* project was the first step to initiate and to improve satellite technologies in Turkey and it covered all major steps to establish the necessary infrastructure in Turkey to design, build and test a LEO satellite entirely in the country. As a second step, RASAT project has been initiated in year 2004. Except for some systems; like imaging system and solar panels, the technology of which are not yet available in Turkey; RASAT Will totally be built and integrated at TUBITAK-UZAY facilities. The imaging...
Attitude control of an earth orbiting solar sail satellite to progressively change the selected orbital element
Ataş, Ömer; Tekinalp, Ozan; Department of Aerospace Engineering (2014)
Solar sailing is currently under investigation for space propulsion. Radiation pressure from the Sun is utilized to propel the spacecraft. This thesis examines locally optimal steering law to progressively change the selected orbital elements, without considering others, of an Earth centered Keplerian orbit of a cube satellite with solar sail. The proper attitude maneuver mechanization is proposed to harvest highest solar radiation force in the desired direction for such Earth orbiting satellites. The satel...
Numerical analysis of the effects of atmospheric parameters on space launch center safety
Yaman, İbrahim; Aksel, Mehmet Haluk; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2016)
This thesis study aims at the problem of space launch center safety which is dependent on launch vehicle conceptual design and atmospheric parameters. Selection of the concept at the initial step of the satellite launch vehicle affects the project cost and space launch center safety directly. It is also important to model properties of atmospheric conditions and conduct safety analysis. Successful mission for a launch vehicle depends on providing the total velocity requirement. In this study, launch vehicle...
Feasibility study on thermal survivability of X-Band subsystem on RASAT microsatellite
Okan, A (2005-06-11)
After the launch and commissioning of the first Turkish remote sensing satellite BILSAT-1(center dot), TUBITAK BILTEN has initiated the RASAT microsatellite project. RASAT will be a remote sensing microsatellite at low Earth orbit (LEO), with a mass of around 100 kg and an orbital average power of 38W. RASAT is planned to he launched in 2007 and will be the first satellite to be designed and manufactured entirely in Turkey.
