This paper performs a modeling of an isolated full bridge boost converter that suits the system level studies of power electronic -based systems. For system level studies, in which large signal models must be developed, linearized average value models are invalid. Large signal analysis can be carried out by nonlinear State Space models. In this paper generalized state space averaging method is adopted to include ripple modeling for higher accuracy. The obtained model is compared to a number of other averaging methods and also verified by the detailed switching model. Nonlinear control is carried out by feedback linearization approach. Large signal stability and zero steady state error of the closed loop system are validated by simulation results of the detailed and generalized state space models.

MODELING OF A CAPACITIVE Sigma-Delta MEMS ACCELEROMETER SYSTEM INCLUDING THE NOISE COMPONENTS AND VERIFICATION WITH TEST RESULTS
Boga, Biter; Ocak, Ilker Ender; Külah, Haluk; Akın, Tayfun (2009-01-29)
This paper presents a detailed SIMULINK model for a conventional capacitive Sigma-Delta accelerometer system consisting of a MEMS accelerometer, closed-loop readout electronics, and signal processing units (e. g. decimation filters). By using this model, it is possible to estimate the performance of the full system, including the effect of individual noise components, operation range, scale factor, etc. The model has been verified through test results using a lateral accelerometer, full-custom designed 2nd-...
Design and electromagnetic optimization of a respiration harvester
Goreke, Utku; Azgın, Kıvanç; Beyaz, Mustafa Ilker (2014-09-10)
This work reports the design and electromagnetic optimization of a MEMS-scale turbo generator for harvesting fluidic energy in human exhalation. The device is composed of a turbine with dual -layer integrated permanent magnets, ball bearings, and stators with micro coils. For an efficient energy conversion, number of magnetic poles should be optimized to obtain maximum flux density in a given device geometry, where magnetic reluctance and leakage act as two competing effects. This optimization has been perf...
Modeling and Control of Interleaved Multiple-Input Power Converter for Fuel Cell Hybrid Electric Vehicles
Hegazy, Omar; Van Mierlo, Joeri; Lataire, Philippe (2011-09-10)
Interleaving techniques are widely used to reduce input/output ripples, to increase the efficiency and to increase the power capacity of the DC/DC converters. This paper proposes an interleaved multiple-input power converter (IMIPC) that interfaces the fuel cell and energy storage systems (e.g. Batteries or/and Supercapacitors) to the powertrain of the hybrid electric vehicles. The IMIPC is responsible for the power-flow management on-board vehicle for each operating mode. In this research, the IMIPC is pro...
Operating principles and practical design aspects of all SiC DC/AC/DC converter for MPPT in grid-connected PV supplies
ÖZTÜRK, SERKAN; Popos, Polat; Utalay, Volkan; Koc, Atila; Ermiş, Muammer; ÇADIRCI, IŞIK (2018-12-01)
A 20 kW, 20 kHz high frequency (HF) link maximum power point tracking (MPPT) converter for a grid-connected PV supply, based on all silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductors, is presented. In the developed converter, SiC power MOSFETs are used in the low-voltage PV panel side and SiC Schottky diodes on the high-voltage DC output, in order to maximize the power conversion efficiency and the power density. Operating principles of the resulting dual H-bridge MPPT converter and the practical aspects of the con...
Design and Analysis of Frequency-Tunable Amplifiers using Varactor Diode Topologies
Nesimoglu, Tayfun (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2011-08-01)
The design of frequency-tunable amplifiers is investigated and the trade-off between linearity, efficiency and tunability is revealed. Several tunable amplifiers using various varactor diode topologies as tunable devices are designed by using load-pull techniques and their performances are compared. The amplifier using anti-series distortion-free varactor stack topology achieves 38% power added efficiency and it may be tuned from 1.74 to 2.36 GHz (about 35% tunable range). The amplifier using anti-series/an...
