We suggest a new scenario to explain the outburst light curves of black hole soft X-ray transients together with the secondary maximum and the bump seen on their decay phases. Our explanations are based on the disk instability models considering the effect of X-ray irradiation. The scenario is consistent with the observed X-ray delays by a few days with respect to the optical rise for both the main outburst and the later maxima. We test our scenario by numerically solving the disk diffusion equation. The obtained model curve fits well to the observed X-ray outburst photon flux curve of the black hole soft X-ray transient GS/GRS 1124-68, a typical representative of the four BH SXTs with very similar light curves.

We present the frequency-resolved energy spectra (FRS) of the low-mass X-ray binary dipper XB1323-619 during persistent emission in four different frequency bands using an archival XMM-Newton observation. FRS method helps to probe the inner zones of an accretion disc. XB1323-619 is an Atoll source and a type-I burster. In this paper, timing data for anomalous X-ray pulsars and soft gamma repeaters are compiled. Timing properties of these objects are investigated. The effect of bursts of soft gamma repeaters on their period history is investigated. The P-P diagram for pulsars, X-ray binaries, anomalous X-ray pulsars, soft gamma repeaters and dim radio quiet neutron stars is constructed. The possible evolutionary tracks for anomalous X-ray pulsars, soft gamma repeaters and dim radio quiet neutron stars are examined.
VERITAS discovery of > 200 GeV gamma-ray emission from the intermediate-frequency-peaked BL Lacertae object W Comae

We report the detection of very high energy gamma- ray emission from the intermediate- frequency- peaked BL Lacertae object W Comae (z = 0.102) by VERITAS. We probe the properties of the transient X-ray pulsar MAXI J1409-619 through RXTE and Swift follow-up observations of the outburst in 2010.
