We analyze polarization effects in the associative photoproduction of pseudoscalar ((D) over bar (c)) charmed mesons in exclusive processes gamma+N-->Y-c+(D) over bar (c), Y-c=Lambda(c)(+), Sigma(c). Circularly polarized photons induce nonzero polarization of the Y-c hyperon with x and z components (in the reaction plane) and nonvanishing asymmetries A(x) and A(z) for polarized nucleon targets. These polarization observables can be predicted in a model-independent way for the exclusive (D) over bar (c)-production processes in collinear kinematics. The T-even components of the Y-c-polarization and asymmetries for noncollinear kinematics can be calculated in the framework of an effective Lagrangian approach. The depolarization coefficients D-ab, characterizing the dependence of the Y-c polarization on the nucleon polarization, are also calculated.

Polarization phenomena for p)over-bar+p ->(Lambda)over-bar+Lambda in collinear kinematics as a test of polarized strangeness
Pak, Namık Kemal; Rekalo, MP (Elsevier BV, 1999-03-25)
Polarization effects for the process (p)over-bar + p --> (Lambda)over-bar + Lambda are studied for the collinear Lambda-production. Using the triplet channel dominance hypothesis for the (p)over-bar p-annihilation, we prove that the longitudinal polarization transfer coefficient from the initial proton to final Lambda hyperon must be positive in this kinematical regime, independently of any model. The exact value of this coefficient, however, depends on the sign of the strange quark contribution to the prot...
Charged-particle nuclear modification factors in PbPb and pPb collisions at root s(NN)=5.02 TeV
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2017-04-01)
The spectra of charged particles produced within the pseudorapidity window vertical bar eta vertical bar 20 GeV, R-pA exhibits weak momentum dependence and shows a moderate enhancement above unity.
Polarized lepton pair forward-backward asymmetries in B -> K*l(+)l(-) decay beyond the standard model
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2004-05-01)
We study the polarized lepton pair forward-backward asymmetries in B --> K*l+l(-) decay using a general, model independent form of the effective hamiltonian. We present the general expression for nine double-polarization forward-backward asymmetries. It is shown that, the study of the forward-backward asymmetries of the doubly-polarized lepton pair is a very useful tool for establishing new physics beyond the standard model.
Light vector meson octet-decuplet baryon vertices in QCD
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Özpineci, Altuğ; Savcı, Mustafa (American Physical Society (APS), 2010-03-01)
The strong coupling constants between light vector mesons and octet-decuplet baryons are calculated in framework of the light cone QCD sum rules, taking into account SU(3) flavor symmetry breaking effects. It is shown that all strong coupling constants can be represented in terms of a single universal function. Size of the SU(3) symmetry breaking effects are estimated.
Double-lepton polarization asymmetries in the exclusive B ->rho l+l(-) decay beyond the standard model
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (American Physical Society (APS), 2005-08-01)
The double-lepton polarization asymmetries in B ->rho l(+)l(-) decay are analyzed in a model independent framework. The general expressions for nine double-polarization asymmetries are calculated. It is shown that the study of the double-lepton polarization asymmetries proves to be a very useful tool in looking for new physics beyond the standard model.
