We present the analysis of X-ray and optical observations of Abell 2034. It is located at the moderate redshift of z=0.113. X-ray data are taken from the XMM-Newton archive. The best-fit single temperature of 7.6 keV model well defines the diffuse hot plasma. The cluster is observed by ground based optical Turkish National Observatory RTT-150 telescope. X-ray spectra of the individual sources from the cluster outskirts are studied. The intra cluster medium (ICM) temperature and metal distributions are constructed using wavelet algorithms. We explore the morphology and dynamical history of the cluster based on our multi-wavelength analysis results.

Multi-Band Metamaterial Absorber: Design, Experiment and Physical Interpretation
Dincer, F.; KARAASLAN, MUHARREM; ÜNAL, EKİN ANIL; Akgol, O.; Sabah, C. (2014-03-01)
This paper presents the design, fabrication, characterization and experimental verification of a perfect Multi-Band Metamaterial (MTM) absorber (MA) based on a simple configuration of a rectangular resonator and strips operating in microwave frequency regime. The proposed multi-band MA provides perfect absorption with TE-incident angle independency. Maximum absorption rate is achieved as 99.43% at 5.19 GHz for simulation and 98.67% at 5.19 GHz for experiment, respectively. The measurement results of the fab...
ORBITAL-PHASE-RESOLVED SPECTROSCOPY OF THE INTERMEDIATE POLAR FO AQR USING XMM-NEWTON OBSERVATORY DATA
Pekon, Y.; Balman, Şölen (IOP Publishing, 2012-08-01)
We present the orbital-phase-resolved analysis of an archival FO Aqr observation obtained using the X-ray Multi-Mirror Mission, European Photon Imaging Camera (pn instrument). We investigate the variation of the spin pulse amplitudes over the orbital period in order to account for the effects of orbital motion on spin modulation. The semi-amplitude variations are in phase with the orbital modulation, changing from (38.0 +/- 1.8)% at the orbital maximum to (13.3 +/- 3.7)% at the orbital minimum. The spectral...
Frequency Resolved Spectroscopy of XB 1323-619 and EXO 0748-676
Balman, Şölen (2009-09-11)
We present the frequency resolved energy spectra (FRS) of the low-mass X-ray binary dipper XB 1323-619 and EXO 0748-676 using archival XMM-Newton observations. The FRS of XB 1323-619 is well described by a single blackbody component with kT in a range 1.2-1.6 keV. We attribute this to an existing boundary layer, the likely source of the soft emission, supported by radiation pressure. We detect a different form of FRS for the frequency ranges 0.9-6 Hz and 8-30 Hz which is modeled best with a power law and a ...
Absorption edge and optical constants of Tl2Ga2S3Se crystals from reflection and transmission, and ellipsometric measurements
Isik, M.; Hasanlı, Nızamı (2012-06-15)
The optical properties of Tl2Ga2S3Se layered crystalline semiconductors were investigated from transmission, reflection and ellipsometric measurements. The experimental results of the room temperature transmission and reflection measurements performed in the wavelength range of 400-1100 nm showed the presence of both indirect and direct transitions in the band structure of the crystals with 2.38 and 2.62 eV band gap energies.
Direct Reconstruction of Pharmacokinetic-Rate Images of Optical Fluorophores From NIR Measurements
Alacam, Burak; Yazici, Birsen (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2009-09-01)
In this paper, we present a new method to form pharmacokinetic-rate images of optical fluorophores directly from near infra-red (NIR) boundary measurements. We first derive a mapping from spatially resolved pharmacokinetic rates to NIR boundary measurements by combining compartmental modeling with a diffusion based NIR photon propagation model. We express this mapping as a state-space equation. Next, we introduce a spatio-temporal prior model for the pharmacokinetic-rate images and combine it with the state...
