This article describes an adjustment of a permanent magnet direct-current motor. This adjustment has been done in order to reduce manufacturing costs due to allowing of machine-made winding. The size of motor has to be unchanged and motor characteristics should be unchanged as well. A finite elements method program has been used for design of the adjusted motor.

Beam Switching Reflectarray with MEMS Controls
Bayraktar, Omer; Aydın Çivi, Hatice Özlem; Akın, Tayfun (2010-04-16)
This paper presents a 26.5 GHz beam switching reflectarray monolithically fabricated on glass substrate with the RF MEMS switches. The array is formed using 10x10 aperture coupled microstrip patch antenna (ACMPA) elements. RF MEMS switches are implemented on the transmission lines in order to sustain the beam switching. A prototype of a reflectarray with 90 RF MEMS switches is monolithically produced using an in-house surface micromachining process including the wafer bonding steps. The measurement result s...
NONDESTRUCTIVE MONITORING OF VARIATIONS OF RESIDUAL STRESSES IN STEEL WELDMENTS BY MAGNETIC BARKHAUSEN NOISE METHOD
Gür, Cemil Hakan; Batıgün, Caner; Çam, İbrahim (2013-07-18)
Variations of surface residual stresses as a function of weld runs in API 5L X70 steel plates were non-destructively monitored by Magnetic Barkhausen Noise (MBN) method. After each weld run, MBN signal and hardness distributions were recorded. MBN signals were converted into stress values by using a specific calibration procedure. The results were analyzed by considering microstructure investigations and hardness measurements, and then, they were compared with the results of X-ray diffraction measurements. ...
Design and characterization of electromagnetic wave absorbing structural compsites
Gürer, Göksu; Dericioğlu, Arcan Fehmi; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2010)
Electromagnetic interference (EMI) is one of the most common problems encountered in microwave applications. Interaction of electromagnetic (EM) waves from different sources may result in device malfunction due to misinterpretation of the transferred data or information loss. On the other hand, development of materials with reduced radar detectability is desired in defense applications. Considering the limitations in weight and thickness, development of lightweight structural materials with enhanced electro...
FEM-Based Design Modifications and Efficiency Improvements of a Brushed Permanent Magnet DC Motor
Tarvirdilu-Asl, Rasul; Zeinali, Reza; Ertan, Hulusi Bülent (2017-05-27)
This paper describes design modifications of a brushed permanent magnet DC motor. Test motor is modeled using a Finite Element Method (FEM) based software. Model accuracy is investigated by comparing measurement and simulation results. Reducing material consumption in motor fabrication while the motor develops the desired torque at a higher efficiency is aimed in this paper. Modifications are done in three stages and simulations results are also presented. These results are also compared to simulation resul...
Production system optimization for submersible pump lifted wells : a case study
Güler, Nuri Ozan; Bağı, A. Suat; Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering (2004)
A computer program has been written to perform production optimization in submersible pump lifted wells.Production optimization was achieved by the principles of Nodal Analysis Technique which was applied between the reservoir and the wellhead ignoring the surface choke and separator.computer program has been written according to two lifting environment, which are:pumping with only liquid, pumping with both liquid and gas.
