Production system optimization for submersible pump lifted wells : a case study

Güler, Nuri Ozan
A computer program has been written to perform production optimization in submersible pump lifted wells.Production optimization was achieved by the principles of Nodal Analysis Technique which was applied between the reservoir and the wellhead ignoring the surface choke and program has been written according to two lifting environment, which are:pumping with only liquid, pumping with both liquid and gas.

Extra Korolev producers: their impact on production
Yskak, Aidos; Parlaktuna, Mahmut; Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering (2010)
In this study, a three-dimensional, three-phase dynamic simulation model based on geological investigations of Korolev oilfield in Kazakhstan was used as a development planning tool in order to improve performance of three new wells. The model, developed previously by means of a seismic study, well log and core data, incorporating with characteristics of oilfield productivity, properties of reservoir, liquids and gases that are saturating the hydrocarbon-bearing horizon can be used to calculate development ...

Variations of surface residual stresses as a function of weld runs in API 5L X70 steel plates were non-destructively monitored by Magnetic Barkhausen Noise (MBN) method. After each weld run, MBN signal and hardness distributions were recorded. MBN signals were converted into stress values by using a specific calibration procedure. The results were analyzed by considering microstructure investigations and hardness measurements, and then, they were compared with the results of X-ray diffraction measurements. ...
A study on heat transfer inside the wellbore during drilling operations
Apak, Esat Can; Özbayoğlu, Evren; Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering (2006)
Analysis of the drilling fluid temperature in a circulating well is the main objective of this study. Initially, an analytical temperature distribution model, which utilizes basic energy conservation principle, is presented for this purpose. A computer program is written in order to easily implement this model to different cases. Variables that have significant effect on temperature profile are observed. Since the verification of the analytical model is not probable for many cases, a computer program (ANSYS...
Development of helical tubular reactor for hydrogen producing photosynthetic bacteria
Sarı, Süleyman; Eroğlu, İnci; Department of Biotechnology (2007)
Photobiological hydrogen production from organic materials occurs with the help of illumination and under aerobic conditions within photobioreactors. Novel designs are needed in order to increase the light conversion efficiency and to improve the biological hydrogen production. In this thesis, purple non sulfur bacteria Rhodobacter sphaeroides O.U. 001 was employed as the hydrogen producing microorganism. Two different types of photobioreactors, namely oscillatory helical photobioreactor and recycling helic...
Pressure prediction on a variable-speed pump controlled hydraulic system using structured recurrent neural networks
KILIÇ, Ergin; Dölen, Melik; Çalışkan, Hakan; Koku, Ahmet Buğra; Balkan, Raif Tuna (Elsevier BV, 2014-05-01)
This paper presents a study to predict the pressures in the cylinder chambers of a variable-speed pump controlled hydraulic system using structured recurrent neural network topologies where the rotational speed of the pumps, the position and the average velocity of the hydraulic actuator are used as their inputs. The paper elaborates the properties of such networks in extended time periods through detailed simulation- and experimental studies where black-box modeling approaches generally fail to yield accep...
