The Dalitz distribution and the effective mass spectrum of the lepton pair produced in the decay eta(c) --> gamma l(+)l(-), as well as the differential cross sections for the crossed channels gamma e(-) --> eta(c)e(-) and e(+)e(-) --> eta(c)gamma, are calculated in terms of the sole electromagnetic transition form factor for the vertex eta(c) --> gamma gamma*, where gamma* is a virtual photon with a space-like (for gamma e(-) --> eta(c)e(-)) or a time-like (for e(+)e(-) --> eta(c)gamma and eta(c) --> gamma l(+)l(-)) four-momentum. Explicit parameterizations of the transition form factor are found in two different approaches, namely in the vector dominance model and in a QCD-inspired consideration on the basis of the process c (c) over bar --> gamma l(+)l(-), with zero relative three-momentum of the annihilating quarks.

Analysis of various polarization asymmetries in the inclusive b -> s a"" (+) a"" (-) decay in the fourth-generation standard model
BASHIRY, VALİ; Bayar, M. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2009-06-01)
In this study a systematical analysis of various polarization asymmetries in inclusive b -> s a"" (+) a"" (-) decay in the standard model (SM) with four generation of quarks is carried out. We found that the various asymmetries are sensitive to the new mixing and quark masses for both of the mu and tau channels. Sizable deviations from the SM values are obtained. Hence, b -> s a"" (+) a"" (-) decay is a valuable tool for searching physics beyond the SM, especially in the indirect searches for the fourth-gen...
Measurements of the t(t)over-bar production cross section in lepton plus jets final states in pp collisions at 8 and ratio of 8 to 7 cross sections
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2017-01-01)
A measurement of the top quark pair production () cross section in proton-proton collisions at the centre-of-mass energy of 8 is presented using data collected with the CMS detector at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.6. This analysis is performed in the decay channels with one isolated, high transverse momentum electron or muon and at least four jets, at least one of which is required to be identified as originating from hadronization of a b quark. The calibration of the jet energy ...
Suppression and azimuthal anisotropy of prompt and nonprompt J/psi production in PbPb collisions at root S-NN=2.76 TeV
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2017-04-01)
The nuclear modification factor R-AA and the azimuthal anisotropy coefficient v(2) ofprompt and nonprompt (i.e. those from decays of b hadrons) J/psi mesons, measured from PbPb and pp collisions at root S-NN = 2.76 rfeV at itheLHC, are reported. The results are presented in several event centrality intervals and several kinematic regions, for transverse momenta p(T) > 6.5 GeV/c and rapidity vertical bar y vertical bar < 2.4, extending down to p(T) = 3 GeV/c in the 1.6 < vertical bar y vertical bar < 2.4 ran...
Search for resonant t(t)over-bar production in proton-proton collisions at root s=8 TeV
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (American Physical Society (APS), 2016-01-01)
A search is performed for the production of heavy resonances decaying into top-antitop quark pairs in proton-proton collisions at root s = 8 TeV. Data used for the analyses were collected with the CMS detector and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb(-1). The search is performed using events with three different final states, defined by the number of leptons (electrons and muons) from the t (t) over bar. WbWb decay. The analyses are optimized for reconstruction of top quarks with high Lorentz b...
Measurement of the top-quark mass in t(t)over-bar events with dilepton final states in pp collisions at root s=7 TeV
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2012-10-01)
The top-quark mass is measured in proton-proton collisions at root s = 7 TeV using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 fb(-1) collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The measurement is performed in the dilepton decay channel t (t) over bar -> (l(+)nu(l)b) (l-(nu) over bar (l)(b) over bar), where l = e, mu. Candidate top-quark decays are selected by requiring two leptons, at least two jets, and imbalance in transverse momentum. The mass is reconstructed with an analytical matri...
