In recent days, radio manufacturers are increasingly interested in broadband amplifiers for cellular communication. Demands of customers enforce manufacturers to develop systems compatible for all standards and it is mandatory to accommodate more than one amplifier or tunable amplifier in front end of communication systems. In this paper, design of tunable amplifier is investigated by using Real Frequency Technique and agility of tunable components is provided by digital tunable capacitors.

Design of dual-frequency probe-fed microstrip antennas with genetic optimization algorithm
Ozgun, O; Mutlu, S; Aksun, MI; Alatan, Lale (2003-08-01)
Dual-frequency operation of antennas has become a necessity for many applications in recent wireless communication systems, such as GPS, GSM services operating at two different frequency bands, and services of PCS and IMT-2000 applications. Although there are various techniques to achieve dual-band operation from various types of microstrip antennas, there is no efficient design tool that has been incorporated with a suitable optimization algorithm. In this paper, the cavity-model based simulation tool alon...
Design amd implementation of a VHF/UHF front-end using tunable dual band filters
Alaca, Fatih; Yıldırım, Nevzat; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2012)
For the new generation wireless communication systems, there is an increasing demand for devices that covers more than one frequency band. This results in a need for wide-band tunable front-ends. The main objective of this study is to use dual band filters in the design of a multi-band front-end. A wide-band low noise amplifier is also required. To accomplish this project, a fixed frequency bandstop filter, a tunable dual-band filter and a wide-band LNA are designed and implemented successfully. The predefi...
Design of log-periodic dipole array feed and wide band reflector antenna system
Tanyer, Fatma Müge; Tanyer, Fatma Müge; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2005)
The introduction of broadband systems to communication and radar technologies has demanded the design of broadband antennas. In this thesis, broadband log-periodic dipole antennas and reflector antennas are investigated. A dual polarized log-periodic dipole antenna and a reflector antenna are designed and analyzed within the frequency band of 0.4-18 GHz. Basic theory and calculations about mutual coupling between the linear antenna elements are given. The currents at the bases of dipoles of the log-periodic...
Scheduling algorithms for wireless cdma networks
Hakyemez, Serkan Ender; Schmidt, Şenan Ece; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2007)
In recent years the need for multimedia packet data services in wireless networks has grown rapidly. To overcome that need third generation (3G) mobile services have been proposed. The fast growing demands multimedia services in 3G services brought the need for higher capacity. As a result of this, the improvement on throughput, traffic serving performance has become necessary in 3G systems. Code division multiple access (CDMA) technique is one of the most important 3G wireless mobile techniques that has be...
Design of miniaturized ku band narrowband cavity filter
Sevinç, Yusuf; Demir, Şimşek; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2018)
Frequency multiplexer structures are of a crucial role as an essential part of huge variety of communication systems including, satellite-communication systems, wireless communication systems and radio transmission. They are indispensable multiple port components that are used for combination and separation of specific signals or frequency bandwidths selectively from a single signal or frequency bandwidth in multiport communication system. The main blocks that form a multiplexer are a set of filters, named ...
