The paper presents an Adaptive Intelligent Learning System (AILS) designed to be used with any Learning Management System (LMS). The adaptiveness provides uniquely identifying and monitoring the learner's learning process according to the learner's profile. AILS has been implemented as a multi-agent system. The agents were developed as JADE agents. The paper presents the learning model, system components, agent behavior in learner scenarios, the ontologies used in agent communications, and the adaptive strategies. The sample application of the AILS to a dummy LMS is also given.

MODA: A Micro Adaptive Intelligent Learning System for Distance Education
Serçe, Fatma Cemile; Alpaslan, Ferda Nur (2008-10-22)
The paper presents a multi-agent module, called MODA, to provide micro-level adaptiveness in learning management systems (LMS). The adaptiveness provides uniquely identifying and monitoring of the learner's learning process according to the learner's profile. The paper covers the pedagogical framework behind the adaptation mechanism, the architecture of MODA and its agents, the protocol providing communication between MODA and LMS, and a sample application of the module to an open source learning management...
Intelligent distributed cognitive-based open learning system for schools (ICLASS)
Akar, Gözde(2008-6-30)
The iClass project will develop an intelligent cognitive-based open learning system and environment, adapted to individual learners' needs and ensure their take-up in the education sector at a European level. This will be achieved by creating:- an advanced learning system, founded on an ontology-based architecture for sequencing of knowledge and adaptive to learner's level of understanding and learning style by dynamically creating individualized learning objects;- a distributed, collaborative environment w...
Collaborative project-based learning: an integrative science and technological education project
Baser, Derya; Ozden, M. Yasar; Karaaslan, Hasan (2017-06-01)
Background: Blending collaborative learning and project-based learning (PBL) based on Wolff (2003) design categories, students interacted in a learning environment where they developed their technology integration practices as well as their technological and collaborative skills.Purpose: The study aims to understand how seventh grade students perceive a collaborative web-based science project in light of Wolff's design categories. The goal of the project is to develop their technological and collaborative s...
Multi-dimensional evaluation of E-learning systems in the higher education context: An empirical investigation of a computer literacy course
Özkan Yıldırım, Sevgi (2009-12-01)
Research addressing the conceptualization and measurement of learning management systems (LMS) within educational organizations as both a web-based learning system for e-learning and as a supportive tool for blended learning environments is receiving attention, and this research study proposes a conceptual e-learning assessment model, HELAM (Hexagonal e-Learning Assessment Model), suggesting a multi-dimensional approach for LMS evaluation via six dimensions: (1) system quality, (2) service quality, (3) cont...
Intelligent student assessment and coaching interface to web-based education-oriented intelligent experimentation on robot supported laboratory set-ups
Motuk, Halil Erdem; Erkmen, Aydan Müşerref; Erkmen, İsmet; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2003)
This thesis presents a framework for an intelligent interface for the access of robotsupported remote laboratories through the Internet. The framework is composed of the student assessment and coaching system, the experimentation scenario, and the associated graphical user interface. Student assessment and coaching system is the main feature of a successful intelligent interface for use during remote experimentation with a robot-supported laboratory setup. The system has a modular structure employing artifi...
