L-Dopa synthesis using tyrosinase immobilized on magnetic beads
Tuncagil, Sevinc; Kayahan, Senem; BAYRAMOĞLU, GÜLAY; ARICA, MEHMET YAKUP; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2009-06-01)
Magnetic beads were prepared via Suspension polymerization of glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) and methyl methacrylate (MMA) in the presence of ferric ions. Following polymerization, thermal co-precipitation of the Fe(III) ions in the beads with Fe(II) ions under alkaline condition resulted in encapsulation of Fe3O4 nano-crystals within the polymer matrix. The magnetic beads were activated with glutaraldehyde, and tyrosinase enzyme was covalently immobilized on the support via reaction of amino groups under mild...
LQG/LTR, H-infinity and Mu robust controllers design for line of sight stabilization
Baskın, Mehmet; Leblebicioğlu, Mehmet Kemal; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2015)
Line of sight stabilization against various disturbances is an essential property of gimbaled vision systems mounted on mobile platforms. As the vision systems are designed to function at longer operating ranges with relatively narrow field of views, the expectations from stabilization loops have increased in recent years. In order to design a good stabilization loop, high gain compensation is required. While satisfying high loop gains for disturbance attenuation, it is also required to satisfy sufficient l...

L-Dopa Synthesis on Conducting Polymers
Erdogan, Huriye; Tuncagil, Sevinc; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Informa UK Limited, 2010-01-01)
With regards to the synthesis of L-Dopa (l-3,4-dihydroxy phenylalanine) two types of biosensors were designed by immobilizing tyrosinase on conducting polymers; polypyrrole (PPy) and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT). PPy and PEDOT were synthesized electrochemically and tyrosinase immobilized by entrapment during electropolymerization. The kinetic parameters of the designed biosensors, maximum reaction rate of the enzyme (Vmax) and Michaelis Menten constant (Km) were determined. Vmax were found as 0....
L2 writing teachers' perceptions of mistakes in student writing and their preferences regarding feedback: the case of a Turkish private university

L2 WRITING TEACHERS’ PERCEPTIONS OF MISTAKES IN STUDENT WRITING AND THEIR PREFERENCES REGARDING FEEDBACK: THE CASE OF A TURKISH PRIVATE UNIVERSITY Dokuzoğlu, Selcen M.A. Program of English Language Teaching Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Hüsnü Enginarlar September 2010, 161 pages This study aimed to investigate L2 writing instructors’ perceptions of seriousness of different mistake types in upper-intermediate level students’ essays. It also set out to examine the teachers’ preferences related with feedback provision...
