Investigation of physical properties of quaternary AgGa0.5In0.5Te2 thin films deposited by thermal evaporation
Karaagac, H.; Parlak, Mehmet (Elsevier BV, 2010-8)
The aim of this study is to understand the structural, optical and photo-electrical properties of the quaternary chalcogenide AgGa 0.5In0.5Te2 thin films deposited onto the glass substrates by thermal evaporation of the single crystalline powder. Energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDXA) showed remarkable change in atomic percentage of the constituent elements after annealing. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) of the films below the annealing temperature of 300°C indicated the polycrystalline structure with co-exis...
Investigation of wear behavior of aged and non-aged SiC-reinforced AlSi7Mg2 metal matrix composites in dry sliding conditions
ÇELİK, YAHYA HIŞMAN; Demir, Mehmet Emin; KILIÇKAP, EROL; Kalkanlı, Ali (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2020-01-01)
Metal matrix composites (MMCs) with their splendid mechanical properties have been specifically designed for use in fields such as aerospace and aviation. The presence of hard ceramic particles in MMC increases the hardness of the matrix product and decreases its coefficient of friction. Therefore, the wear resistance is improved. Moreover, the mechanical properties of these composite materials can be improved by applying heat treatments. In this study, AlSi7Mg2 MMCs with 15 wt% SiC reinforcement were produ...
Investigation of structural and optical characteristics of thermally evaporated Ga2Se3 thin films
Isik, M.; Hasanlı, Nızamı (2020-09-01)
Ga2Se3 thin films were prepared by thermal evaporation technique and structural, optical characteristics of the deposited thin films were investigated in the present study. X-ray diffraction pattern of the thin film exhibited one intensive and sharp peak associated with (111) plane of cubic crystalline structure of the compound. Energy dispersive spectroscopic analyses pointed out the atomic compositional ratio of the constituent elements as consistent with chemical formula of Ga2Se3. The optical characteri...
Investigation of Physical Properties and Moisture Sorption Behaviour of Different MArshmallow Formulations
Kırtıl, Emrah; Öztop, Halil Mecit (2016-08-25)
Marshmallows are a type of confectionary product known for its soft, foamy texture. It owes this characteristic to its relatively high moisture content (17-21% by wt) and porous structure. However, these attributes make marshmallows more susceptible to quality degrading changes such as; sugar crystallization, texture aging, foam collapse and hardening or softening. The high interfacial area, increases the rates of mass transfer which makes it harder for marshmallows to preserve its initial moisture content ...
INVESTIGATION OF THE MICROSTRUCTURE AND HARDNESS OF SiCP REINFORCED ALUMINUM MATRIX COMPOSITES
MAKSZIMUS, Andrea; GACSI, Zoltan; Gür, Cemil Hakan (2007-10-16)
The purpose of this study is to find a relationship between the parameters describing the microstructural homogeneity of SiC particle reinforced Al metal matrix composites. The Al-SiC powder mixtures having different particle size combinations were hot-pressed after careful mixing. The optical microscope images of the microstructures were processed by using an image analyzing program; the binary morphology was chosen for characterizing the SiC particle distribution.
