In this paper, design of a device, which can measure mass properties of missiles or their sub-components in a single test setup, is expressed. An object, whose mass properties are going to be calculated, is attached to the device and three-dimensional, oscillatory motion about a specific point is supplied to that object. During this motion, velocity and acceleration values of the object are measured simultenously with the force and torque values at the connection point of the object. Mass properties of the object are computed by using measured velocity, acceleration, force and torque values in Newton’s equations of motion.

Design of an inertia measurement device for stores
Kılıç, Berkay; Dal, Hüsnü; Tüzün, Aydın; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2018)

Semi-automatic ground-truth trajectory extraction on image sequences
Karabıyık, Murat; Demirekler, Mübeccel; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2017)
In this thesis, offline semi-automatic ground-truth trajectory extraction technique is proposed that uses measurements of detector as basis. The unknown camera motion of the videos used throughout the thesis makes the problem even more challenging. The camera motion is estimated by using a novel method which uses a special Kalman filter. Background objects are discriminated from the targets and they are used to estimate the camera motion. Two different trackers are implemented to extract the ground-truth. M...
Design of asymmetric coplanar strip folded dipole antennas /
Karaciğer, Kamil; Alatan, Lale; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2014)
This thesis includes the design, simulation, production and measurement of an asymmetric coplanar strip folded dipole antenna suitable to be used as an element in a linear array operating at S-band (2.7 GHz - 3.3 GHz). In this same manner, its usefulness as an array antenna is also explored in this thesis. This antenna element consists of a microstrip line feed, microstrip to coplanar stripline transition (BALUN) and asymmetric coplanar strip (ACPS) folded dipole. The planar folded dipole can be constructed...
DESIGN OF A DECOUPLING NETWORK TO IMPROVE ISOLATION BETWEEN TWO PORTS OF MULTI-FUNCTIONAL ANTENNA
Tonga, Muhammed; Aydın Çivi, Hatice Özlem; Alatan, Lale; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2022-6)
A multi-functional antenna considered in this thesis has different pattern shapes and ability to steer the beam by changing phase difference between its two ports. Coupling between these two ports is high, since two ports are excited coherently to establish a single mode in the antenna for the corresponding phase difference. Therefore, the antenna suffers from low and even negative gain value because of the coupling. In this thesis, a decoupling network is designed and implemented to the antenna to improve ...
Comparison of multi-cavity arrays for on-chip WDM applications
Erdinç, Havva; Kocaman, Serdar; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2019)
Researches about the interaction of single atoms with electromagnetic field create the foundation of cavity quantum electrodynamics (CQED) technology. Microlasers, photon bandgap structures and quantum dot structures in cavities are the initial examples of Cavity Quantum Electrodynamics. This thesis is focused on the comparison of multi-cavity arrays for on-chip wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) applications in the weak coupling regime. Firstly, single QD embedded cavity (cavity QD EIT) and cavity-cavi...
