Design of smart antenna array for interference suppression in GPS
Dabak, Ömer Can; Alatan, Lale; Koç, Seyit Sencer; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2016)
GPS jammers add excessive noise to received low power GPS signals and have capability to weaken or completely destroy the positioning performance of GPS receivers. The most popular technique to overcome GPS jamming problem is suppression of jammers by using array signal processing techniques. In this thesis, a GPS anti-jamming system is constructed by designing an active antenna array and implementing adaptive beamforming techniques. This thesis mainly include the design of four element active circularly po...
Proposed structure for a HTS generator for direct drive offshore wind turbines
Burchell, Joseph; Keysan, Ozan; Mueller, Markus (2014-01-01)
The drive for larger offshore turbines with greater outputs is curtailed by the physical size of the generator and the ability to install devices in remote areas with often changeable weather conditions. High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) machines offer the technology able to replace large Direct Drive Permanent Magnet (DDPM) generators with more compact machines. However some theoretical HTS designs often neglect the practicality of the physical support structure required to tolerate the huge magnetic ...
Development of three way catalytic converter for automotive exhaust gas
Bayram, Bilal; Külah, Görkem; Önal, Işık; Department of Chemical Engineering (2021-7-9)
In this study, a novel perovskite-based three-way catalyst (LaFe0.57Co0.37Pd0.06O3/Ce0.8Zr0.2O2/Al2O3) with high performance, thermal stability and SO2 poisoning resistance was developed. The performance of the developed catalyst was compared to a standard catalyst based on dispersed metal (Pd/Rh/ Ce0.8Zr0.2O2 / Al2O3). Performance evaluations were carried out in a dynamic activity test system that simulates redox fluctuations in the exhaust of gasoline engines. ICP-OES, BET surface area, X-ray diffraction,...
